Getting Sliders - Suggestions?

I was on the Iphone earlier. He custom built these as I was looking for a strong step replacement. Very high quality and shipped to me including powder coating for same price as the advertised price of other major vendors not including their shipping. I live in GA so shipping alone was high. They arrived on a long pallet with 2 brand new ratchet straps, individually wrapped in new moving blankets. Not a scratch on them. I simply described what I wanted and sent a sketch and they came in exactly like I wanted. Can't recommend them enough!!

I'm in GA as well so shipping will be an issue. Everyone around here build stuff for Heeps can't find anyone that builds specifically for Toyotas. Tactical Armor does but they have a bad rep for service and honestly their rear bumper is ugly as sin.

Can the Binks sliders be used with the factory mud flaps (front and rear) in place? IIRC, Binks has his own CNC, so he could probably make that step plate custom however you want it? I think it would be cool to have it cut to spell the name of my 80 or something...

Easily...just trim a little square out with a razor knife. He did these with no mudflap to go by. Pretty much perfect. The protection goes right up to the inside part of the mudflap protecting the lower front fender.

Yeah, that there is a nice detail.

A tad off topic, but does anyone know if/where you can order the U shaped mounts that wrap around the frame and bolt across the top. I know some of the major sliders use thi mounting system. I'd like to fab my own sliders but it would be nice to have these pieces per made.

Have you tried: McMaster-Carr#

I have only seen them on Cruisin Off Road sliders. Shouldnt be difficult for "you" to make:cheers:

Late to the party, but I thought I would add a couple of comments about the Metaltech sliders.

The good: great place to deal with, easy install (installed them in the rain, in the driveway, by myself, in about an hour - the night before a weekend of wheeling), bulletproof (saved my rear doors and fender flares from a couple of significant hits with nary scratch).

The bad: it's a lot tougher getting to the cats now, for some reason...

The surprising: I live in the northeast and discovered that the sliders accumulate huge stalagmites of salty frozen slush. Other than the obvious problem of making the sliders slippery as hell, this makes it impossible to open the rear doors (the salty boogers rise above the bottom of the doors) and difficult to keep your pant legs clean (while stepping down from the front seats). The amount of salty sand they trap (inside the slider, as well as on top of the flat part) is quite astounding as well. None of this is a complaint, as I cannot imagine trading the utility for the convenience, but merely a heads up for someone considering sliders in general and the MTs in particular.

Great product at an acceptable price!

4xinnovations sells a kit - it is very reasonable but the cat mount works for the later 80. I have made several sets of sliders with the frame mounts, it is very easy to do yourself.

As well as the above, Slee will sell you a set, or at least last time I asked.

Does anyone have pics of the cat protection on the Bump It Offroad Step sliders? I would assume it would be similar to the tube cat protection but their website doesnt have under belly pictures.

Yes, I have a few pictures. It is really beefy and strong. I put the weight of the vehicle on the cat protection part and it didn't budge at all. I'm really happy with mine.
