Getting ready to buy sliders for my LX450......tomorrow. I'm leaning towards Metal Tech. Anyone have a better suggestion?

I really like my Slee's. but would have zero issue's going with MT's.

If money is not part of the equation, then my preference is in this order....

1:Metal Tech
2:Slee

Those are the two major players as far as sliders, then it's a sizeable gap and you get into some of the less expensive options that are more of a custom approach.

If you're on a budget, hard to beat the price of the 67" Trail-Gear sliders although you'll need a little bit of welding to finish them up. Check out my ROTW linked in my sig for details on my Trail-Gear Sliders.

Edit: THIS LINK has better details on the Trail-Gear sliders on my truck.

Rocky Road Outfitters makes a pair for the 80. It has the catalytic converter skidplate already on them as well. But I cant speak for their quality, cause I dont own a pair.

Is there a wife/significant other/princess driving the cruiser?

I like the Slee step sliders myself, and they are more family / average daily life friendly.

Maybe you should state what specifics you need/want in your sliders, then people can chime in based on functionality, rather than just who their favorite builder/brand is. JAT

I have MetalTech sliders and really like them. Bought them and they arrived a week later. I was thinking about the Hanna Quality sliders before my purchase. The reason I didn't go with the Hanna is that, from everything I hear, he takes a long time (although his work is top notch). I didn't look too hard at the Slee sliders because his catalytic converter skid plate doesn't seem to protect as well as Hanna or MetalTech. Good luck in whatever you decide.

I love my Metal Tech sliders. They're great to work with too. I just landed mine on the cat guard. All of the weight was on the cat guard on a big rock. I could turn my tires and pivot side to side on it. I did scuff them.

Go with the metal tech i had them on mine for 2 years now even with the wisconsin winters there is no rust or peeling of the powder coat and there tough .Saved the body of mine a couple of times already.

I thought long and hard as well, and finally ordered slider steps from Mike @ BumpIt. The 3/16" wall tube, cat protection, and price are all perfect for me. Just one more to consider - you can't go wrong with any of the aforementioned vendors, though.

If I buy a set of sliders I too would go with the step sliders from bumpit. I will probably build though. Let us know what you go with.

Metal Techs on the way! :D

Congrats! I love my MT sliders...

You haven't wore those out yet?:D Last time I saw your rig you had thoroughly tested the driver's side. I think MT has used you for testing out their design, so he'll be getting the improved model, right?;)

Can't go wrong with the Metaltech sliders, enjoy.

I went with Mike at Bump It Offroad as well. They are of excellent build quality and Mike was a great guy to work with. He built them on schedule too. Very reasonably priced too, I think they were only 550 or 600 for bare metal.

Here for some pics for future reference:

I'm definitely going with TrailGear. $140 plus $24 for the gusset kit and Note: 58" & 67" Rock Sliders are now made from seamless DOM material.
