Top and New Tires and Wheels

OK, I have not updated in a while. I did get the hard top finished and put on.
so here is the top.
I love my OEM wheels and the 33" tires but with the 4" HFS lift they look really small, so I decided to add some Eagle Alloys to the old girl with some 35x12.50 BFG mud terrains.
Wheels are Eagle Alloy style 186- 15x8 6 on 5.5 with 3.25" backspace. I did not have to use spacers and the fit is good for me.

That was one heck of a rebuild. I have a very long way to go. I do not know if mine will ever look that good. Yours looks great.

Thanks for that comment, I saw the pics of yours on the trailer. Be patient, plan, plan some more, develop a budget based on every step of the plan. the biggest reason someone will abandon a rebuild is time and money.
know exactly what you want the finished product to look like.

When you're dealing with children-usually you give them 3 strikes before they are out; but when you're an adult, you have one chance to get it right; blow that and you're pretty much screwed---JT Outfitters has been deleted from my favorites list----

Hi, your truck is what I'm hoping mine will look like someday. Your right about being patient, I'm so frustrated right now. I have a coworker who's suppose to be painting mine, but he never seems to have the time. Thinking of calling a local body shop and getting it done quick.

Hillbilly,
I built a paint booth inside my shop, built some tall racks to hang parts, bought a two gun paint sprayer, proper filter for air lines, and painted the red 77 my self.

I paid to have the Dune Beige '75 painted but would not pay that kind of money again.

Go talk to your local tech college or junior college, sometimes they have the training facility for painting cars, you could use their booth or let them do it as practice (generally you have to supply the paint)

Good Luck and Happy Thanksgiving!!

All of Gary's work is top rate. They look even better in person!

Thanks Gary, I've got a spray gun and I can make a make shift paint booth, just not the confidence to tackle it myself. I'm just impatient and don't like waiting on other people. But I think I'm gonna give it a shot. Thanks for the info and I hope you have a great Thanksgiving.

Gary, this is exactly what I had hoped to build when I started Back40, You have the history from these builds to pull off an even nicer restomod version, being 53, this truck has the originality that I would prefer and yet has the modern creature comforts that make it every day drivable, thanks for sharing the thread with me, I've enjoyed it, Work of Will, you willed it to be and had the amazing patience to carry it out, you've been blessed with many talents

Ive noticed SOR is about $5.00 more on a $50.00 part compared to others. Ive never ordered from JT and it dont look like i will. SOR dosent have great phone communication skills but at least they dont send crap.

Looking for the current owner of this truck. If it’s for sale I am interested .
Please PM me
David
