IIRC, CW (righty-righty) is how you increase the spring, adding height. But it's been a few years, could be wrong....
Is this a typical response after adjusting torsion bars then getting an alignment?
I finished the OME 2.5 inch install today (Slee heavies in rear and OME torsion bars for the front). Measured center hub to fender edge at 21.5 inches (both sides). Did a short drive and remeasured at just under 21 inches. Cranked on the torsion bars and raised front to 21.75 inches (both sides). Another short drive and remeasured front at 21.25 inches. I'd like the front at 21.5 inches but am worried about turning the the torsion bars anymore before the alignment if I can expect some lift afterwards. Anyone else have similar experience with their suspension lift?
This is a great thread and very helpful. and this is a great question I read through the whole thread and I never saw it answered directly. I'm in the process of doing this right now. Added the medium 865 to the rear and wanted to get the inch and a half in the front but I only had four turns before I bottom out on the threads. Initially I got about 1 and 1/8" lift, but after I drove it I'm down to about less than 3/4. So per instructions I'm going to reindex.
My question relates to the previous posters question. What should I shoot for? I understand I have to have an alignment afterwards but should i get my measurement and know that it's going to drop as soon as I drive it. is the alignment going to correct for that and bring it back up to the initial measurement I got before driving it? I hope that makes sense. What I'm trying to avoid is cranking up driving it bring it back and crank it up again until I get the lift i want only to go to get an alignment and its then too high
Yeah that's what i thought, but i followed the pic from the OP

he rotated it counter clockwise/downwards on the spline. I did that and it lowered the truck and tucked my tire. I did the opposite and it raised it up. Strange.

Same thing happened for me but I still have to re index them.... great info though for sure!!
So whats the answer? What direction for the driver side i need to do mine. Clockwise or Counter Clockwise?
I did the opposite as the original post says.
So its Clockwise for the driver side and Counter Clockwise for the passenger side correct?
I believe so but im reindexing mine tomorrow so if you want to hang tight I can get you a for sure answer unless someone else knows for sure. I want to say I did the opposite of what you said but let me double check it. I know you can lift the vehicle and do one side and lower it and see if it sits higher or lower and that should tell you and then just raise the vehicle up again and do opposite depending on what your wanting.
I have AHC so its a lot more concerning because i wont see a huge drop like non AHC. Ill wait to hear from you as this thread was never clear.
So here’s what I’ll say on this. I laid under the driver side with feet out away from the vehicle and looking up I put my braker bar handle even with the front tire and pulled the handle toward the outside of the vehicle. For the passenger side I had to do the same process as far as position but on this side I turned my braker bar in toward center of vehicle. Make sure your handle is toward the front tires not toward back tires as it would possibly confuse you. Let me know if this helps.
Lay under there, look at it reallllly hard, and I’m sure it will make senseI know how to lower and raise the torsion bars i dont know what direction i need to turn the actual bars for reindexing.
