My setup is a 4BT Cummins turbo diesel with NV-4500 5 speed. I’ve got stock rotors and pads up front with an 80s axle and disk brakes in rear. With all the snow in Oregon I got gravel that got between the pads and rotor and scared up the surface of my front rotor. I called Man A Fre looking into buying new pads and rotors and he turned me on to the Man A Fre front Big Brake conversion. Ive had no braking issues but you know when somebody brings up an upgrade it’s great to do some research. Just testing the waters here. The price isn’t cheap. The rotors actually slid over their machined hub which is a nice upgrade. Looks like a beefy setup.

Yep, I've been running this setup (with my brackets) for 2 years

Does the kit use min truck IFS hubs which increase track width? Looks like you also have the cost of upgrading to 17" wheels if you're not already running them. Nice looking kit though.

The hubs they have on the site are the IFS hubs and would increase the track width about 3 in total.

4.5' backspacing gets the tires pretty close to the fender edge with a tasteful bit outside the body line. This would be pretty close to what it would look like.
What width are those tires? I'm planning to run either 35x10.5 or 35x11.5 when I'm done my build.

I was already planning to order 17" wheels for the end of my build so that has me wondering if I should go ahead and upgrade the front brakes while I have the axles out. Mission creep is a character flaw of mine...

Those are 34 x 10.5 R17. It wouldn't be a bad time to consider it. Or swapping to 80 axles / suspension.

What backspacing wheels would be needed for this kit?
I just ran 17" take offs from 2020 4runner. I found both a set of factory steel and aluminum on craigslist Craigslist. One from a 2020 and one from a 2021.
I'll run the back steel on the 40 and aluminum on the 60. Both trucks have 80 rear floaters and widened fronts to match.

The wheels I've been eyeing for my build are available in either 4.36" BS or 4.75" BS in 17x8.5. I was hoping to not run spacers, but if I increase the track width in the front with larger brakes, I'll obviously need to run spacers in the rear.

80 FF rear will match the front width very closely.

Yes, and I've been contemplating doing that. I already have gears and a locker in my current axles which makes the decision a little tougher.

Pick up a non-locked FF 80 series axle and swap your 60 series locked diff into it, then you can have an 80 series FF disc axle with locker and gears that match the front axle. Do the front brake upgrade and your set.

This is the way.
