Good evening,

Does anyone happen to know the minimum thickness of the brake disc on an HJ60?

I’m measuring 19mm right now (so I guess it needs replacing?).

I found an instruction video on YouTube for doing it yourself:

Is this something a reasonable beginner can do on their own?

Would love to hear your thoughts!

Regards,

Ben

Yes, 19mm is the minimum rotor thickness recommended by Toyota.

To get the rotor off, you're going balls deep into the hub, so plan to do wheel bearings and related seals, and consider doing the entire swivel hub if it hasnt been done in living memory..

Its absolutely a job that a beginner will find very intimidating and daunting.. for that reason, its a great task for a beginner! Go for it.
