I bought this 1986 FJ60 in November 2022. It was in good condition with minimal rust and 149,000 miles. The truck badly needed a carb rebuild. So I sent the carb off, waited, and also had it desmogged.
It had also been repainted at some point to a more stark white than the original Toyota white. It was starting to show rust in spots. I recently had it completely repainted to the original specs. I also read on this forum about the carpet kits and bought one. Finally, the truck needed new exhaust. The original exhaust was rusted out and had holes in the headers and everywhere else. I bought the Man A Fre kit and a buddy installed it for me. It took him about six hours.
The truck runs like new now. I noticed a decent power gain with the new exhaust and love the sound of it. Anyway, I am sure I will always be adding or fixing something on this truck but really love it. Here are some pics.
