ok, so my emergency brake light will not go out. Without the engine started I can push the button underneath the emergency brake lever and it will go completely out so that is not the issue. With the engine started I can put the emergency bake down and it will go from bright to dim, but will not go out. The next thing I know will cause that is low brake fluid, so I checked it. I know because this because years ago when first got the truck and my rear wheel cylinders were leaking someone from this forum told me to add brake fluid and it shut off. I noticed the two lines coming out of the cap were cut and the plug was gone?? total mystery how that happened so I sourced a new one...see pic below. I checked it with an OHM meter to see if it worked sliding the float up and down and it seems to work. Anyway, I hooked it up and still have the same problem...dim emergency brake light after disengaging the emergency brake. Nothing that stops me from having a good time in my truck, but bothers me.

I still have not figured out why my charge light is on either. Long history of changing my alternator back to OEM, but I tested everything and it makes no sense. Maybe a bad ground somewhere. For now my solution was just to unplug the relay under the passenger side dash. Not ideal, but at least I dont have to stare at another red light on the dash.

all the dash warning lights share a common ground connection - behind the dash.
When that thing starts to disintegrate, electricity will find the path of lesser resistance which often is through another component - to ground. Technically its called a floating ground.
This might not be the issue you're experiencing , but whenever there's wonky dash light behavior - that inadequate ground bus is a prime suspect.

wonder where I can find that ground wire to check it....has anyone else fixed this ground and have pics to show??

Here is some info I posted in the past - linked below. Even if this connector ends up not being the culprit, its important to check it anyway.
