The mighty 2H Diesel is now sitting pretty in its now mounts. Custom Engine Mounts and Transfer Mounts are now fabbed/painted and installed to the chassis.

Time for some Oil and wiring to get this old girl kicked over.

Love the build Stewie. You may have converted another pig lover. Will probably be missing OCKA this year, looking forward to the pics.

Thanks Dan! Lots of photos will be taken this year as I'll be Co-pilot. Be sending up a lot of FJ55 Photos over that weekend.

HJ55s Radiator and Airbox are now in place.
Using the HJ60 Radiator and Airbox was a challenge but the right fit.

Outlet pipe of the HJ60 Radiator was a much better choice then the factory FJ55.

New bracket was needed as the HJ60 Radiator waa 45mm wider with a different bolt pattern. Nutserted into position.

Airbox is spun so the Inlet is rear facing. Making the snorkal plumbing a bit easier.

Next step is mounting the remaining engine bay essentials then start Wiring and refit the Steering box.

After some research and future looking for the project, I decided to pull the HJ60 Radiator out.

We'll be fitting a custom radiator with two Inline fittings the same style as the HJ60. This will be pushed forward 60mm to sit inside the clip.

This will gives more engine bay space for Twin Thermo Fans. Radiator ends up 300x575mm.

Also redesigned the transfer mount for more clearance.

Have also finished tacking the Leaf Perches on the diff. The Locker will be installed and pinion angle confirmed. We'll also pull a leaf from the Pack to have a bit more comfort from the HJ75 Leafs.

Love this thread - had to re-read it from the beginning. Keep it coming - and be sure to lay down that Aussie lingo nice and thick!

Yeah too right cobba. It's been a pearler of a build she'll be right once the wheels are rolling. Cant wait to throw in the barbie and a few cans of neck oil and hit the road.

Just make sure nothing goes Cactus!

Howdy All.

This week's progress has been very impressive. Jake at JE Customs has been busier then a One Legged Bloke in an Arse Kicking Competition.

Rear diff has now had the perches fully welded, with the leaves and suspension pack back in place.

The new and improved custom Transfer Mounts have been installed. The Transfer now curls behind the Pinion for maximum strength and clearance.

The Battery Tray has now been mounted on the Passenger Side - For you folk in the USA that are backwards, the Drivers. Nutserted into the body and secured.

So that's the majour parts readied for the Auto Sparkie to work his magic. New Battery is being supplied, with the Airbox to be fitted later this week.

It's been a real humdinger of a week, makes me happier then a Pig in mud. No pun intended.

That’s a good looking mount there👍
Love the list on the door there too😆

It's been filling up the door more then what I would have liked to. Was very happy with the Transfer Mount. Ill have better photos this afternoon.

Another side of the HJ55V. I am in lust with the Barn Doors. Spent the best part of two hours setting the door hinges and locks to fit.

As they would say, Snug like a bug in a rug.

Next week I meet my new AutoSparky to help rewire the Petrol components and wire in the Starting circuit and Glow System. Will be using a Wilson Switch system and try to repurpose one of the Original FJ55 Pull type switches to operate it.

Our HJ60 Rear Diff is now bolted in and sitting back on all four @mickeythompsonaus tyres.
Tested the Bump stop length and found out we'll need extentions.
Photos show total up and Down travel with the leaves.
I also fit the new Battery ready for Wiring of the HJ55.

This is the first time in 4 months the Bonnet and HJ55 has been put together again.

Attached is a list of what is to come.

What else am I missing?

Return to Center Steering Dampner fitted.

Fitted in the Front and Rear Tail Shafts. Front will need a 2" spacer due to the increased lift. 75 Series Landcruiser Springs and 2" Shackles.

As well as Another photo of the Transfer Cross Mount.

Set up the Gear Sticks and Seating position. As I assumed, the Tunnel Cover will need to be modified. But not as much as I thought.

My HJ55 Work shop is now more complete with the FJ55s original grille and lights at the feature peice.

I am looking to expand my tools, but have limited space.

What else should I add that you use in your garage?

IMG_20190623_195537_901.jpg

Our Winch Bar has been started. Will have a Tube Hoop over the top of the Lights and be completed with the Warn X8000i Winch. Styled on this FJ40 Barwork. Will be made in Four Peices
- Hoop.
- Winch Cradle
- 2 side wings.

This makes for easy access to remove from the chassis. Running 2 x 9" LED Lights, 2 x 16w 6 row LED Driving lights and CB Radio Aerial

Looking forward to seeing this finished.
