Very nice. I'd go with CruiserCorps too

As nice as this one came out, I would stlil do white monstaliner. The results are awesome. Then I'd put led strips around the edges. As much as I like pure stock, I really like this mod.

Strips? strips of what? Lighting? I would like to see this.

So what about the power conversion to 12V - What are you plugging them into and where are you hiding that big-ass wall wart.

the lights are already 12v. the little box i am guessing you are calling the wall wart, is the brains of the operation (second picture, white box on bottom). i simple cut the 120v plug off, stripped wires back, spliced the red wire into the interior light connection coming out of DS top of windshield, and grounded the black wire to the frame. the little box then can be placed multiple areas depending on what you like. you could tape, velcro, glue it in anyplace. i simple tuck in up on top of my visor. i never use my visor. with alittle time and thinking, and some electrical knowledge the possiblities are endless where you want to put these. i went simple route, i might streamline it this summer. i will get picture soon to explain better.

Just fyi - those are 3M Roloc bristle disks , they work great for removing stuff like that and were designed to remove gaskets , ect . They come in 3 different levels - white/green/yellow . IIRC , white is the lightest grade....
You'll learn that using the lowest rpm's possible and light pressure on the tool will yield the most even results . Press on 'em hard and you'll wear them out quickly , not cheap to replace and they can gouge aluminum and soft surfaces if you get aggressive . Been using them for a lot of years now on a variety of materials , great product .

Thanks! You read my mind. I wanted to know what that product was as soon as I saw it.

The LED sounds cool!
Not familiar w/ the monstaliner headliner?

Who did the work on your cap? Mine is really sun beaten and thin in some spots. It has no shine at all.

I had my paint and body guy do all the work to make the top look like new. Custom Finish Auto.

Nice work Greg! I used the $60 CCoT rooftop-to-roof gasket and it was a nightmare. It's unruly and must be glued to the top or the sides to hold it steady, and no glue would stick to it. You also have to trim the corners and punch the holes, which is not a big deal.

But, getting it to stay put during assembly and look nice was more effort than it should have been. I would sure try to buy the OEM gasket if possible.

so here is my simple install of the led lights i spoke of earlier. very simple. the lights i got came from costco, and are made by sylvan. the has 4 2' sections that you can piece together up to 8 sections. 8 sections is the perfect amount to go around entire interior of cruiser. it comes with a sticky back tape that adheres directly to the inside rain gutter perfectly.

no to wire in i simply cut of the 120v plug as the led themselves are 12v to start with. i stripped the red and black wires back. i jumpered the red power wire directly into the power wire coming out of the top of windshield on DS that powers interior dome light. i grounded the black wire to the windshield frame screw/bolt. you can see this in the first picture. now the modulator i just tucked up on top of the sun visor and close it. i never use the visor so it is out of the way. you could mount this little box anywhere really. the rest is to stck light strips where you want them and plug them in.

Passenger seat stock location, drivers up and back?

very good eye. yes the passenger seat is stock location. i am 6'10" so some serious modifying needed to be done so i could fit in and drive. here is a link to that mod. everything can be reversed to stock in an hours work.

the led lights actually strobe, flash, blend kinda like a disco ball. my 14 yo son loves it and now calls the 40 "disco bones." according to him, "i am so taking disco bones to prom. no need to even go in to dance."

greg-
they are LED flat strips that have a dio ever 6" or so. on the backside is adhesive. thye mount perfectly to the inner lip on the gutter. i will take pictures of my install and post up later today.

in the mean time here is a link to pictures of what is sold at costco.
