I Like those LED lights! If my truck doesn't sell I might just look into doing that project myself. . .

What I came here to post is that those 3M Rocor pads are MAGIC! You can get them plus a cheap drill base as Lordco for around $30 total. (You'll only need 1 3" pad) Simply awesome product. Stripped the whole roof nicely in about an hour, and can even get fairly far up into the edges.

Thanks for the tip!

Did the stock headliners have that seam across the middle?

There was a seam however I don't think it is a sewn seam. It looks more like a heat generated seam. Right over the roll bar (on models with roll bars that is)

I'm getting ready to tackle my headliner installation and have not been able to figure out how to terminate the headliner at the header.

Can anyone post some photos showing how the headliner was originally terminated where it meets the header?

Many thanks for posting this thread! It was a big help in planning for my resto.

I assume when you say header you mean the front where the top meets the windshield. Just make sure you cover this area all the way under the lip of the windshield. You can cut it along the lip that rests on the windshield gasket.

Is there a good thread that covers the removal of the fiberglass cap. I know how to do it but I thought my new body guy might be able to use some tips. There are a number of bolts and screws that newbies take off that don't really need to be removed and I can't tell you how many cut roof gaskets I've seen from previous owners who could not figure out who the brackets above the doors come apart.

I don't think that monster liner or LineX would have any better soundproofing or insulation characteristics than the headlinerh however you will never have to replace the headliner again so that is a benefit

Thanks for this! I will be installing my new Cruiser Corps headliner in my 40 roof cap tomorrow - excited and nervous!

I took my headliner out of the box and bag yesterday and laid it out flat. It looks like there are still some fold lines visible. Does anyone know if they turn invisible once you start smoothing things out?

Just hope I don't get a wrinkly headliner!

Best to let it sit flat for a few days or out in the sun. Also recently I tried a 3M product called Super 77 as an adhesive and although I was told it works great, it did not. The headliner was falling down the next day and I had to do the job over again. Use 3M headliner on fabric adhesive. Apply it liberally. Read the instructions on the can.

Thanks. It has been laying flat since Thursday.
I will have to roll it up to transport to the paint shop, but I will put it out in the sun before installing.
I plan on using the spray adhesive by Dap that Cruiser Corps sells with the headliner. Any experience with that?

@overton I'm going to start my headliner today, should it go all the way like this photo?

Did you think about sealing the gap between the metal and fiberglass there? I think that must be where the snow flies in when my headliner had fallen down...
