Go figure, a scrawny guy like you could do that. :flipoff2:

You really are a pansey. I put on 20# between Thanksgiving and New Years, all in the gut. Remind me to give you some pointers on sloth and gluttony, the two areas I excell at.

The brake line bracket on top of the pumpkin is SCARY CLOSE to the u bolt plate...Is this right? Have any of you had any problems with this, and or done soemthing different?
I ground down the side of the bracket, in hopes that it will stay clear, but Im worried about when the suspension cycles...

Take a look!

You shouldn't have any problems with the brakeline, it will move right along with your u-bolt plate, if there is much movement between the two you have bigger problems :D

Shheeaa.....You light weight....I clockin in at 140.

Hey Kurt,
Thanks for chimin in!!!
I thought that, but I thought Id ask just to be sure! I did clearance as much as I could away from the plate, off of the brake line bracket.

Hey I don't mean to be a little off topic, but how big of a welder are you using for this project? I'm in the market for a new mig welder and wanted to know of a 110v will do axles just fine. Me and some buddies had a Miller 210 and it was awesome, then we had to sell it. I've been looking at a lincoln 140 cause its 110v and I can run that anywhere. Thanks again.

Hey GudaFJ,
MY SELF, ive been using my lincoln 110V, but Im taking great care in beveling my edges, pre heating the bigger material, prep and runnning triple passes on almost everything just to be sure...
Now, with that being said...I am planning on getting a 220v welder.

This topic is covered EXTENSIVELY in the outfitting section, in fact, there is a thread on there right now on the first page discussing welders. Take a stroll through the pages, and youll find a TON of stuff on this topic, and if you post your welds, people can critique them...

How did you bamboozle a cutie like that into hooking up with you?

Did you cut and turn the knuckles? I have heard a lot of different takes on this. What's your plan? What have some others done? I have considered doing this for a long time. The obvious problem with my spring under is clearance. It drives me crazy when I get those U-bolts hung up on rocks.

he already has.

oops sorry saw it just now on page three. Still what have others done. I have 700R4 front D-shaft is fairly long. Is it neccessary?

There is a TON of debate on this topic...
With the 62's, the diffs are already turned up from the factory greater than the 60's...
On mine, when I set my SOA, I actually turned my diff DOWN 1 deg for spring settlement. The factory setting was at 11*, and when I got everything set, I actually turnde the diff down to 10*.
I set my castor angles at 5*...
Lots of people say that you can do it witout C and T, but I figured to just go ahead and do it...It was probably the easiest procedure performed thus far, provided
A) you dont cut the housing too deep
B) You have a good method of securing the housing when turning the ends.
For me, setting the perches was the biggest BITCH because Im a dumb ass and i got too hasty.

As Im to understand it, the C and T is more for handleing reasons than any other.
