Can't wait to see your project finished! If you aren't able to find a source for your part close by, and get desparate, I have a parts rig I can get the piece you need from. I'm in Alberta.

Nice lookin pics Keith. Are you using stock birfs or did you upgrade?

Dylan

Thanks D!
Naw, I couldnt afford the longs right now, which is why I went with the 35's insted of 37's.
I figure Ill run em till I need new tires, then go for the longs and stick a locker up front and see what else I want to change at that point...
This project has really put a dent in my savings!!!

I here ya, it isn't cheap. I plan on runnin' longfields and a front locker one day but I don't think I will run a front locker without the Longs.

Its amazing how much difference a little cleaning and paint will make, that looks super sanitary. Keep up the good work.

Looks like things worked out for you. I wanted to offer to go over to your place this weekend when you called but I was in Dayton helping my son work on his's GF's Rav4. Did you get ahold of Shawn or Mike?

Looks like you could be back in action soon, good job!

I used to have smurfs in my mini with 37's and a 4.3 v6. Never broke one. Lots of guys up here run them. Travis is a good guy. May want to touch base with him before ordering. I know he is only doing them on the side and has a new job now.

Nope,
neither of em. Mike's number (I think) was a wrong number, and Shawn was huntin. I left a message with one of his chillens, but Im not sure if he got it or not.
I posted here and got the bearing situation sort of straightened out.

Thanks for the info Chet!
Im gonna hold off and just run the stocks for the time being!
Ive GOTTA move forward with this, and at this point id be moving back, as I have the axel in, and one side completely done and the other 90% done...
Ive got a spare set, and as many times as I busted the knuckle down this weekend, Im fairly confident that if I break a birf on the trail, it will be up and running fairly quick. I really got to know the knuckles and the procedure for them this weekend!:D
Its beena LEARNING experience, if nothing else!

Just more words of encouragement. Looking good.

Dre' (dieselcruiserhead) and I were running Smurfs for sometime, I think Andre ended up busting one (or both?), I pulled mine out when I went to Chromo Longs, they were still working great albeit a bit on the "clicky" side. I wouldn't hesitate to run them if I were in the "needs to be better than stock, don't have the money for chromo" situation. Great bang for the buck IMHO.

I spent quite a bit of time cleaning damn near every part as it came off the truck. There was a ton of gunk and crap on everytihng, that would have really screwed me on the trail if I had broken something...Plus, it makes things look nice a purdy!:princess:
It is AMAZING what a wire brush and a lil rustoleum paint will do.

Thanks for noticing! Its took quite a bit of effort to make it that clean...but you guyz are right...It wont be for long!:bounce: :bounce2:
