Have Bob do the whole shebang. at this point in the game, you'll be glad you did 20 years from now.

I have every panel, mount, or support that Bob offers either on it's way UPS for Friday delivery, coming in a separate shipment next week ( I hope), or on order. Have PMd him about the cargo pan possibility.

If it were feasible and agreeable, I'd have shipped to Bob to do, since I am trying hard to do as "right" as possible.

body mount bushings....I'd prolly go with SORs stuff. If rubber were available, I'd rather do that. they'll wear faster, but they'll be quieter and softer...

SOR's are discontinued. No others I can find except eBay, at this time.

I'm not a fan of poly bushings at all, though I don't have experience with them as a body mount bushing.

Swapping these out on FJC without the benefit of a lift, sucked.



But, at least, the added benefit of greasing keeps then quiet(er).

Have been buying tires from a local mom and pop store in Tulsa as often as possible and for as long as I can remember, called Dino's.



Not so sure that they haven't been in business since the wagon wheel and a good family to deal with. Don't mind paying a few bucks more than buying online.

I know what you mean about buying tires local, the online tire outlets stil charge shipping, and then you need to pay someone local to mount yours, and dispose of old tires (if applicable) anyway...

Not yet.

The front fender "vents" on mine look like they came from a Lowe's aisle and were sprayed with chrome paint, so hoping for better on the Cruiser Corp score, then figured, since I'd have everything, I'd hunt somewhere to redo all....hopefully.

Well, honestly I'd forgot I was high bidder at $39.99 (shipping was $25 so have $65 in it), but seller agreed if it didn't check out to be NP OE, he'd return and pay shipping back.

Had been rebuilt, but figured I could use pulley from current reman if this is a first place fair entry killer.

when you say lift, do you mean a jack? I just shove a 2X4 betwixt the body and frame and push down on the long end of the toobafor, then crawl on my back in the oil and gravel to do the stuff thats on the bottom...

No, I mean a hydraulic frame lift.

Now, before I'm flamed into ashes, it's a whole lot different working on IFS or rear link bushings than it is body mounts.





Have to have a 22" floor jack to get the front wheels off the ground, then dealing with coil over removal, UCAs, LCAs and reassembly, sucks on the ground.

Lifts rule and make wrenching a world easier...



Especially on these that require altitude to get the axles up.

I've paid some of my dues on the ground and still do, though.

110 degrees and swapping thirds on a local kids...



95 degrees and lifting another locals FJC. 4 hours solo.




Can't tell you how many FJCs have seen the garage, many 80s......but I know my back can.

Miss the morning ritual of firing up and tinkering.



Piling up parts that'll be blasted and coated, but not sure what the best coating for these and others like, may be.

Also, really wanted to salvage the front and rear bumpers, but that may be stupidity talking.

Is this worth the time to straighten?

are those just minor bends top and bottom? i've seen a lot worse straighted. annies bumper was bent back on both ends, we just put it in a vice and beat it into submission.

besides, you can't get new pig bumpers.

It's tweaked pretty good. Pics may not show, but it sustained an impact on the DS corner, at done point.

I'll beat on it.

That's something I can do and pretty good at.

Wasn't lulled into thinking "new" but a used that may not need as much attention. Not sure how to get the minor imperfections out, but pondering.

Had considered fabbing one for front and rear just like the OEs. Thicker (since all I can weld is 1/8" and up) but the effort to keep it whole has overtaken all sensible thought, so have a hard time discerning what makes sense and what doesn't.

Those are the extended mounting brackets from a PTO winch, keep those and have them powder coated either way. They will allow you to mount a 8274 on the pig

Gotcha. That's how it came out of the back. It's been drilled several times, so would have to fit all first and fill the extra holes.

never seen them wrap the frame, just rivet to the side of the frame.
