That's a good-looking carb...what is the date code?

3 R 8

I'm uncertain the "R" and can't discern from Jim C.'s thread, but odd it's a '73 xx 8th, since it came off a 71.

According to that thread
A is January
K is November

Not sure what that makes R

I had studied SORs pics thoroughly before buying and felt it correct for +9/72 but prior to the date stamped.

Are you going to rebuild the carb.? A few nights in the shop and you got it.

You must've confused me with someone mechanically inclined. Hahaha.

I did buy the kit, but believe this'll be a Jim C. project, if he'll have.

Questions.

I bought the intake and exhaust manifold from same 71, since I was unsure if the headers on mine will remain, and camotubebender didn't want to separate.

Would the intake be beneficial to send to Jim, too?

Also, considering recent determinations regarding the process that the resto will develop, being all mechanical before full on body work, I'm hunting a good doghouse, as Ron calls it.

The current is rotted at the lower radiator support, which explains the larger radiator and custom brackets holding, may explain the shredded shroud and notches on fan blade, too.

Anyhow, I'd like to get, at least the inners, procured, prepped and primed, so the inner fenders can support the attachments to.

In Tulsa, but irrelevant, since there's nothing developing close, so contact if someone has something minty enough to warrant shipping, please.

Edited: I'll take everything firewall forward, if that's the deal and I'd prefer.

complete truck
i want the tires and rims but have no use for the rest.
and
it is green and white.

Hmmm.

Running?

Don't know if I can handle three projects at once, and would hate to cut up a good/running 55.

Now a full body in good shape may be hard to pass up.

Committed to this Pigs resurrection, already.

I wish I had a windmill.....

I don't know how to reply to these adds.

Post a friggin negotiable price, not interests. All I need to know is what you want for it, not what you'll trade for.

Pigs meet.

Now, before I take any grief, I called the other a pig, because she's a heavy ass pig, long before affinity for the older lineage.

I won't refer to as a Pig, anymore, I promise.

Was 82 degrees at 4:45 this morning, so came over to unbox the rest of camotubebender's shipment.

Scored a few necessities:

Still need battery hold down clamp, but little here, little there.....

Wiring harness looks good! I don't have 15% of the OE connectors that this does, so stoked about.

Thanks, Brian!

Every internal mechanism to doors, not the tailgate.

Pighead, is this distributor worth sending, or a spare?

Doesn't appear to have oiler, that I'd hoped I missed....

I know nothing about chrome restoration, especially coating plastic, but assuming it'd be wise to have all done at the same time, by same company, to keep finish/color (?) continuity.

Right?

The door internals and all else, hoping to strip and cad plate, in scrapdaddy fashion, once all is capable of being removed and done, at one time.

Right way?

As for PC on the engine bay appendages, wait until all is ready to do?

PC instead of whatever the block is coated (I don't know what color the block should be)?

Getting antsy on making even the smallest progress and know that doesn't bode well for restorations, so reason for questioning.

Haven't had the best luck with color consistency at the local PC outfit, so thinking it'd be wise to wait, but.....

So went to pick up wheels at Cruiser Corps....

Chatted with buddy Josh and toured the boneyard, which may hold promise on immediate need.

Inners look pretty good on these two, they're dissimilar model years but not sure by how much. Don't think I can mix and match upper and lowers. They appear different, visually.

No hood with work from those two, floors looked better than what I've got, but would have to repair anyway, so unsure what's wise there.

Best was a 69 that was a driver until wrecked.

It was pretty clean, but it's an entire vehicle deal and not wanting another project.

Edited: crappy pics, my apologies.

It's 102-103 here and could barely hang into phone from the sweat pouring off.

Now we know why Toyota's early efforts at Ram Air intakes failed - they put the air horn on the wrong side!!!

Looks to be a serviceable dizzy, would need some work and a tube for the diaphragm...
Mine's better.
