One thing on my list is making a "finish washer" dimple die. Are you planning to heat treat yours?

I got CrMo for most of the raw material and have to see if they need hardening. I get my special steel from a black smith once done I will discuss hardening with him. The bigger diameter material is C65 which is work hardening, I expect that to work without.

Love the ideas!!! Very resourceful. What brand of cutting and grinding wheels do you use?

That depends on what is available at a decent price. For the thin cut off wheels I always go for the higher quality, they last longer and stay in one piece.

Finaly got the actuator.

Tested it on the new wiring and it worked.

And tested it.

Heavenly!

With the lockdown we have here it is difficult to buy stuff, therefore I decided to get a bigger Argon bottle So I don’t have to take time off of work to get a new bottle every so many weeks.
This meant changing the weld cart.
At the same time I made the drawer fronts.

Here is the new bottle, it has the same height as the old one but is twice the diameter.

I had to move the weld rod containers aside and partly over the wheel.
The bottle is attached to the cart by a two piece bracket with a pin to keep it closed, easy to take out but safely fixed to the cart.
The short rods need a bracket to keep them in position on the bottom.

The total with of the cart has not changed.

That’s a nice set up. Is that a multipurpose welder? MiG/Tig/Plasma?

No just TIG, but with puls and AC/DC. The plasma cutter sits on the bottom shelf.
I don’t like to have one device for all, if it breaks down you have nothing.

Two new toys for my collection.
An electric sheet metal sheer and a pneumatic hole punch and flange tool.

I have the Eastwood version of that shear. It comes in handy!

Added a few things to my sheet metal cart.
Some tools in the back, added a shelf for the smaller locking pliers.

And added some stuff to the board, more air tools then anticipated.😉

Two drawers are in the planning now.

He took apart one half of the lift and had it blasted. While taking it apart two pins broke and had to be milled out

I placed it on the milll centered the hole and milled out the broken piece just inside the thread.
This is where the mill makes a difference, find the centre if the hole and take out the metal without damaging the original threads.

I used a tap to remove the remaining material.
