Fan spray washer nozzles?

Digging up an old thread here. Has anyone tried other make/model applications on an 80? I really don't like the direct spray style of OEM, or the idea of Dorman's leaking all over the hood. I had an 05 Subaru Forester before owning an 80 and the spray on them always worked wonderfully. I may try to dig a couple out of a junk yard and see if they would fit.

I remember laughing to myself about this thread when it started, until I rode in a car with spray washers and realized how much better they really are.

Please do keep us posted if you find a good drop in replacement.

On page 3 98 Snake Eater endorses 1st Gen Scion xB sprayers as a great replacement. I think they may be triple steam rather than fan, not sure, but better than stock.

I saw that, which prompted my ask about other makes/models. They certainly seem better than stock, but would still much prefer a fan spray option over a dual or even triple stream.

My Dorman fan spray is good but not the best during hwy speeds. I pulled two 3 stream units from a 4Runner or some Toyota vehicle and need to install them one of these days.

Pulled these washer nozzles and some hose pieces off a 2004 Toyota Tundra. PN for the nozzles is 85381-34030. Much better spray pattern than the old two-jet nozzles. They over spray a little and probably hit just a tad low but much improved cleaning.

These fit in the original nozzle openings. Nozzle fitting points straight down so you will need a slightly longer hose to reach.

(Not my pic but since i didn’t think to take a pic before installing found this one on the web.)

The spray pattern at highway speed can be much different than while sitting still. Drove a rented Ford Escape and noticed that at highway speed most of the fluid was blown way too low to effectively clean the windshield. FWIW.

Have you tried these at highway speed? Do they still cover most of the windshield for good cleaning? I might order these up from the dealership while I pick up a few other things and give them a shot. Pun intended.

Yes. They work great - I would say better than when sitting. I’ll take another video at hwy speed and post it. You might try the junkyard for them. The guy here gave them to me free of charge.

If you’re going to search a junkyard...according to Toyota Parts Deal this P/N comes on these vehicles.

It’s not perfect but I do like the way it cleans. As I mentioned before, there is some overspray to the right and left of the windshield- and it does end up on the doors a bit.

Nice. I just ordered a set from the local dealer to install. Worth a shot at $12/each. I wonder if there is a way to decrease the pressure to avoid the overspray as much? I'll ahve to play with it once I get them installed. Let us know if you end up making any further modifications to them!

Reviving this thread for any recent ideas. I got a set of Honda Odyssey nozzles based on another thread, but they have almost no water coming out of them. Wonder if my pump is too weak? They are a perfect fit otherwise…
