Looking at some tires choices for pig we’re picking up Labor Day weekend in Grand junction. Driving back to Tulsa and am going to change tires prior to the wife and I road trip.

I’ve run BFG ATs exclusively for years on cruisers. I’ve read some good stuff on Falken wild peaks and they seem to be reasonably priced so I’m curious if anyone has any experience with them?

Open to other suggestions for mostly highway and some mild off-road capabilities.

I have Faulken Wildpeak AT3s on my Ram 2500. Nice all terrain tire. Not noisy on the highway and they seem to be wearing good (have 25k miles on them). I have had BFG all terrains on previous vehicles. I don’t think you will be disappointed with the Faulkens.

There is an AT4 improved tire out now. Hopefully you can get those…probably even better!

I’ve got the Falkon AT3’s on my Tacoma work truck and they are quiet and handle really nice on the road. I’ve owned several Bfg at’s and my only complaint is they pick up gravel too easily with the narrow space between the tread. The Falkons don’t seem to have the same problem and are less expensive. I would recommend them.

I have Toyo ATs on the 80. Really nice and smooth on the highway. I also have Toyo MTs on the 85 4Runner. They are equally smooth although they get almost no road use.

I have also ran BFG ATs for decades but have recently leaned toward the Toyos. They are not cheap though; about the same as the BFGs.

ive ran the at3ws on 4 landcruisers for about 5/6 years now. road wise they are great for no noise seem to have plenty of traction on everything but icey conditions. honestly probably some of the worst tires if ever driven on slushy snow/ice melt.

bfg ko3 i like alot other than the price but never had problems other than getting the tires during covid times.

i had the falken rubitrek on work trucks and they seemed decent but cupped after 20k miles or so. for the money the at3ws have been great other than winter time.

I’ve have had a couple of sets of bfg on my 40 and they all were great. Bought a set for the 100 and they were terrible. Never could get them to balance from day one.

Your timing is great! I need to get a new set of tires on the wife's 470/100. The BFG ATs have worn well, but it is time.
I have been hearing good things about Falkens...

Good to hear!

I had a great set of Toyos and was going to put those on the LX, but a friend of mine had some and he did not like the noise associated with them.
Now I can't remember is he was running their MT or AT?

This is not good news. We get a little bit of snow and ice here. I can't have her sliding around when the snow flies...

Thanks!

Interesting. This set of ATs on her LX have been fantastic. They are old now. Well over 60k miles and I bet 6 years old?
When did you buy yours?

I am currently running the RT on my Tundra. I bought them in the spring thinking I was getting the new AT4. I didn't read the Ad very well. I thought the road noise would drive me crazy, but I am pleasantly suprised. A little noisier than the AT they replaced. I tow regularly and these tires are great. Look good too. I know many people that have ran Falken and they all say the same thing. Good tires!

Thanks! Do you run them in the snow at all?

Any snow/slush/ice experience w/ their AT4?

I have not ran these tires in the snow yet. I got them too late in the spring. Snow is why I like the AT's vs. MT's and probably the RT's. AT's do snow great! I get snow in my region and I would always go with an AT for sure. FWIW these RT's I have are not triple peek rated! The AT's are!
