HI guys, needed a new drag link end and kept running into these OEM "kits" with all the ends for the front for a little bit more then just the one i needed. the part number i keep seeing on the box in the pics is 45045-60H00x. I thought it was strange that toyota would make a "kit" and called the dealership with that part number and they said they didn't have it in the computer. anyone know what the deal is with these? fake? legit?

Toyota Land Cruiser BJ40 FJ40 FJ45 FJ55 HJ45 Tie Rod End Kit 45040-69040X for sale online | eBay - https://www.ebay.com/p/15062522602 this is an ebay posting for a kit.

any insight would be dope :)

Please don't get those, just check Cruiser Teq ( Cruiser Outfitters ) , same kit $85. Much prefer Kurt as a vendor.
The shipping and currency conversion makes the cost prohibitive. so are you saying the kits are not fake? as your friend sells the same kit?

You don't have any sources in canada? Um to me Japanese parts are likely good, china yea maybe not so much

no, theres lots of options for ends. best price is the OEM ones from amayama, but if i can buy all 5 OEM ends for the price of 2 then id rather just refresh the whole set. like why not? all i need is someone to give me some insight on if these kits are fake. otherwise ill just buy the single OEM one on amayama for 30$ CAD.

So please, if anyones bought this kit or knows about them id love to hear what you have to say.

That kit and the parts and everything about it are fake. Fugazi.

Toyota ends also include the rods. And they are all 4xxxx-60H0x.

If it’s too good to be true, it most likely is. People always learn the hard way even though the correct information has been discussed for 20+ years on MUD.

Thanks for the insight. no ones mentioned of this fake number on mud anywhere. Parts guy at the dealership didn't know either. Toyota is making new parts for 40 series, people could be compiling their own sets of OEM parts... so lots of reasons to believe this is real, and lots of reasons my inquiry is legit and reasonable. maybe its generational, but can not wrap my mind around why people get so bent out of shape when they THINK someone hasn't searched the forum enough. lol, the search feature is not very good regardless of how thorough a search you do anyway. don't like the topic, don't like the question. dont respond? what am I missing?

I’m responding to provide factual correct information about the Toyota parts ecosystem and not the gobbledygook in your eBay link.

And to factually state that the items in your link are fake.
I got that. that is why i thanked you for that. the gobeldygook you added about 20+ years of discussion ... insinuated I didn't do my homework, and is unnecessary.

Everyone else, Thank you im well aware of the 555 options, and others. just wanted confirmation on the fakeness of these kits. Im interested in OEM, and will be buying from Amayama :)

You posted you needed a new drag link and kept running into these OEM kits. Yes, Cruiser Teq has 555, however as much as 20+ yrs of discussion is unnecessary, posting that you are looking for OEM ends is necessary. Yes, you may have located some NOS on ebay, I would just caution that the fellow who posted and alot of viewers who have gone over this hunt that I would think that if OEM parts were available from someone that info. would be on here, maybe not, please post up if you buy them and there is actually a source for what is thought to be NLA parts.

My original post was a simple "are these real or fake". didn't ask for other sources, didn't ask about how to get ends, just if these are legit or not, as i could not find any info on them anywhere.

amayama is the place. only OEM parts, doesn't seem like many people here utilize it. not sure why. Usually has what I need, in only a few cases it has said it has it and didn't. Canadian prices, very reasonable shipping, great customer service.

And to clarify things for your Toyota button pusher at a dealership, the only part numbers that are applicable to 4x series trucks globally still available from Toyota are the following (applicable through EOP):

LHD:

45047-60H00
45046-60H02
45045-60H00
45046-60H00
45046-60H03

RHD:

45047-60H00
45046-60H00
45046-60H01
45045-60H00
45046-60H03

These are "kits" per the Toyota part numbering system: You get an end, you get the rod associated with that end, you get a cotter pin, and you get a castle nut. These ends will all have grease zircs already fitted to the end. The boots will be pre-greased. You need one part number of each.

The end at the pitman arm is discontinued from Toyota for both the manual gear box as well as the PS version gear box, so you will need to source that elsewhere @cruiseroutfit has aftermarket 555 iterations sitting on his shelves.

Kits are numerically designated by Toyota and are not ad hoc or generic; anything with a 04xxx in the prefix position is a kit of some sort (think engine gasket kit: 04111-66036, for example); anything with a 69xxx in the suffix position is a kit of some sort (think cylinder head assembly: 11101-69107); anything with a 60XYYY in the suffix position (X being a letter and YY being a numerical designation) will be a kit of some sort, (think, the 40 series head light kits: 81110-60P70). These are just some examples of kit numerical systems from Toyota. There are many more.

Anything else is either aftermarket or a fugazi. That's about the long and the short of it.
