I am looking at a 1974 FJ40 LV and am trying to find the factory Color code. I think it is Rustic Green but want to be sure.

Doing some research there is a plate on the driver side door jam and another on the inside passengers side fender in the engine bay.

Neither of these plates have any trim or color details on.

Is there any other location there might be a plate ?

Seems strange that there is no trim spec plate and from what I have found the 74 should only have the two plates ..

Any ideas ?

Not sure when the color code started but if it had one it would be on the plaque under the hood. If it's not on that plate it pre-dates color code by a year or two.

The passenger side fender tag should look something like this. The "621" is the color code (Rustic Green) on this tag from my truck.

Like, LITP said, it would be on e data tag, but I also don't know when it started. I don't think it was as early as 1974, however.

That is the Tag on the Inner passengers fender, no trim or spec. Door tag is Jun 1974

so how did you match it pre 75 ? just by eye ?
