Can anyone confirm? Is the engine block coolant drain plug on the drivers side of the motor 3/8” BSPT?

I realize most people have to chip out the debris when they remove.

Work slowly in and around. Try and go up once you are in like 1/2" or so.

There was a post a while back where there was so much crap clogging the drain that they chipped out what they could, used a drill bit, and then put a piece of wire on the end and let rip in there to knock everything loose.

Remember that guy that drilled out the plug in cylinder head - went threw the cooling jacket into the intake port - Moral work slowly and carefully if you aren't sure of what you are doing. Power tools can ruin things quickly - if you just use hand power less chance of damage. But one of my favorite saying is SOME FOLKS COULD RUIN AN ANVIL WITH A RUBBER MALLET.

Yup! And I’ve never been happier about a bunch of coolant spilling all over my floor.

Update! I seem to have made some progress. When I insert and go to the right, the attachment on my drill goes right through so I can only assume I have worked through that blockage, but on the left side I am still hitting some resistance. Likely because I am limited with space and its hard to maneuver with my drill on that side. Since I seem to have broken through on the right side, should I assume that fluid should be coming through?

After the heater it goes up to the water pump along the passenger side of the block

you should have had fluid coming through a long time ago. can you start the engine, maybe build up a little pressure for the coolant? and keep digging

Just pull the engine, rebuild it.

Chuck up a short section of a steel fish tape in your drill, spin that mug in there and ream that crap out.

This worked the best for me! it seems like i got the right side of hole open.

I will give it a shot tomorrow! Its such a tight spot, tough to clear out the left side
