curiously...My rear tires don't seem to be placed bilaterally symmetrically, erring driver by 0.5" or so. . . 🤔

I thought the sliders were not the same arm length but they seem to be fine... stock rear axle, stock rims, 0.5" airbag spacer, airbags in N position.

driver...

Maybe this is premature. I'll try it all again when parked in the garage, I'm pretty sure my driveway isn't level, and maybe that's the thing...the garage floor is more level, but is also not perfect... (RE: the plumb photos, level against tire passenger, vs fender flare driver.)

I may be deleting all this in the near future (but if not, I'm documenting the thinks. LOL)

This was all discovered months ago when first considering wheel spacers...

If you're lifted and you haven't got a panhard bar correction kit thats probably why. The wheels move side to side a bit as you go through the arc

Right, copy that but I'm not (really) lifted.😕
Currently just 1/4" rear airbag spacer hack, and 3/4" front puck leveling lift. So those shouldn't be affecting what seems like 1/2" driver-shift in the rear ... 🤔

Give your panhard bar bushings a look. If they're shot, the ass end will settle towards to new slack created by the deteriorated bushings. Between the upper and lower, that's only about 1/4".

Do you have the same discrepancy measuring off the frame?

hmm, good idea!

I looks, panhard bushes are good, trailing arms, shock mounts, all's good. The KDSS bushes are toast though (again)...

no.

Inside of sidewall is like 3.5 from frame on each side.
Slider rails are same distance from each side's frame rail, and frame to pinch seam is same bilaterally... 🤔

I run a 5 tire rotation so wondered if the spare could've been a different offset, but all rims look the same. :bang:

'Tis curious. . .
🧐

Is your panhard level or slightly tilted? It should sit perfectly level. Even a little bit of tilt might throw it off. I have a Eimkeith correction kit in mine - simple $100 mod and requires 10 minutes of welding (I used a Harbor Freight flux core cheapie welder), but it's basically level. The panhard bar centers the real axle laterally, so either it, perhaps a bent trailing arm, or some kind of frame damage may be causing the issue, although the panhard bar seems like the most likely culprit.

Quick plumb measurements in the garage, I'm suspecting more that there was body lean in my uneven driveway. Fender flair to street side sidewall seems to be about plumb on both sides now (not the big discrepancy I noticed in the driveway) that it's on mostly level-ish ground.. 🤷

My 60 has so much lean I see it in the headlight pattern. People passing me must think I'm a fatass.

I used to have a decent amount of driver's side lean with my stock suspension. I still have my stock suspension, but I replaced the height sensors on both control arms (rusted out) and since then the rear bags do a good job of keeping me level on level surfaces. That said, if the surface is the least bit uneven, my GX leans heavily to the low side. Not sure if it's just top heavy or what.

Installed the 0.75" Bora wheel spacers with the big brake job.

Stock 470 rims have decent indents between the lug holes. Some have had issues with stock studs and wheel spacers.

On mine, the stock studs in the rear protruded about 8mm past the Spacer's rim surface, and 3mm in front 😲

But they nested nicely in the indents. 🤘😈🤘

Still gotta bleed the system.

Looking good.

Curious to hear your impressions after the bleeding.

I've heard a couple people complain of a mushy pedal after the 460 upgrade, suggesting the larger calipers and pistons require more fluid to move and the 470 master cylinder isn't as up to the task as the 460 counterpart is.

I suspect those folks possibly didn't have the vehicle running when bleeding the rears and therefore didn't get the lines open/cleared properly.

I just inspected my brakes yesterday and saw that it's time for replacement, so this is in my near future.

I doubt I'll be able to tell. In concept they're the same with a wider rotor b/c more space between inner and outer plates. I don't really see any hydraulic difference, just the caliper is a little wider to accommodate the wider rotor. I think the Piston movement from rest to rotor is going to be the same as a stock 470.

My chronic buyer's remorse set in pretty heavily when I first read your response, considering I could have done this brake job for a factor le$$ - ergo just pads. As it turns I'd bought a bunch of takeoffs from a dude in Colorado like 6 months ago, and I'd forgotten that that pile-o-parts included front brake pads until a buddy shuttled the bits to me recently. 😂

But seeing as I'd already $pent it I'm going with it, besides I don't feel like I've done a good mod on the 470 in a bit, save bumper trimming. My pads all around were pretty well worn, I don't have any calipers to check rotors' remaining life/thickness. I might-should replace the rear rotors now anyway cuz that would be like all fresh all the time, but they seem fine. 🤷

I'll roll with it but if I notice anything clearly obvious I'll certainly make note here... 👍

My kid helped bleed this evening so I think I'm all set on this upgrade. 🤙

Sounds like the boat I'm in. I could just get away with doing pads, but I want an upgrade.

I'm just deciding what supplier to get all my 460 components from.
