Getting the engine back tomorrow. It looks like my 350 is now actually a 360. Little did i know that my donor block was already 0.30 over, thus I went 0.60 over. Wall thickness is still plenty.

More work on the box. Getting it ready for paint.

DIY pro-form bed liner and POR 15 precoat.

I will take more outside shots of the body work when I strip all the masking off.

Your project is looking great.

Can you post more info on the bedliner? Is it roll-on or spray? Would it work for under the truck? How do you like working with it?

TIA.

I used Pro Form stuff. I would have taken a pic of the can if I remembered.

You can buy it at Lordco. With a discount worked out to $100 a gallon. I used two for the undersides of the fenders, box, inside of the hard top rear panel and top inside and out.

I used a $12 undercoat gun from Princess Auto. Worked like a charm!!!

UPDATE:

It has been a while since I got to post.

I went to Alaska and had a great trip, but when I got back.....

I hurt/burnt my leg pretty bad in a dirtbike crash and I have been out for about 4 weeks.

Pics...

Stop-drop-and-roll or hot pipe on a trapped leg? Either way that is one big OUCH! Maybe a good spot for a new tattoo when it heals.

Painting is lookin' good. Black textured roof :hmm: - different, but theres nothing wrong with that.

Complements from you are always appreciated! Your "new" box looks amazing.

Yeah, bike was stuck on top of me and I couldn't get it off. I bailed fairly hard and the bike landed on me. Sizzled for a bit.

I think the textured roof will look interesting as well. Originally I was going to paint over the box liner stuff with white, but I am worried how it will hold the paint on. I would rather leave it black than have it flake off in a couple months.

Is it just me or does the bib look like some asian cartoon face or something.......

The lights are from auto loc.

I think their first step is to subliminally take over your mind--------then your body !
Many of your cruiser buddies have already crossed over.
If you see something in that bezel arrangement perhaps you are next.
Your only hope is to flip the bezel and live, damn it, live !

I saw a program once about automotive design and they said most cars, especially Japanese cars, are purposely designed with front clips that look like faces. They went on to say that people in general prefer a "happy" face on their cars.

I like the roof, I'm planning to do the same thing to my wagon, inside and out.

Update....

Still have a LONG way to go.

With school starting I have been very busy. So busy that my glass was sitting at the shop for over a month now. I installed the windshield last night, and rear roof section.

It was difficult to leave it that way so I threw on the top panel and bib to get a feel for how it is going to look.

Then I had to push it outside for a pic :bounce:

This is the first time these pieces have been together and the first time I am seeing what the truck will look like. I have owned it for 8 years. wow.

Brief list of only my '45 body part history: (what I can remember)

Front Right fender, (NOS) black off of my old truck before I sold it.

The truck almost DID NOT MAKE IT OUT OF THE SHOP! I guess I could have let the air out of the tires a little. 1.5" clearance . That, and I am hoping with the drivetrain it will settle a bit more.

Here is a shot of the custom speaker mounts too. :steer:
