Hey guys, I just realized I hadn't posted the info for these new shocks yet, and with some more just arriving in stock today, I wanted to share this post for anyone that's interested.

Dobinsons twin tube nitrogas shocks have been around for years, and with great results in ride quality and durability. Dobinsons now offers a new monotube option, with an internal resi, they're called IMS - Internal-resi Monotube Shocks. They also use IFP technology, meaning an Internal Floating Piston, which gives awesome ride quality at slow speeds, and excellent response at higher speeds too or whenever the shock speeds up in movement.

Dobinsons IMS monotube shock absorbers are designed for next level performance over twin tube shocks in those hot, harsh, demanding conditions. By utilising the monotube design, Dobinsons IMS shock absorbers are able to resist fade far longer on corrugated roads, long or hard working 4WD trips, towing or racing conditions.
The larger 50 and 60mm high flow pistons reduce internal pressures, reduce the heat generated, transfer heat to the body for faster cooling and offer improved damping performance and vehicle control at higher shaft speeds on rough terrain and during big impacts. Threaded bodies on struts allow for fine tuning of height and offer further improvements in cooling. The micropolished, hard chromed and heat treat shock shaft, CNC aluminium high flow race inspired piston, and DOM seamless tubing body provides the ultimate in performance and off-road durability.

Composite piston wear bands, high quality Fuchs oil and a race style 3-stage sealing system offer the lowest levels of friction whilst maintaining durability and longevity without the need for frequent rebuilding or servicing. Just to clarify, the 80 series options are all 60mm (2.36") pistons with 66mm (2.6") outer bodies.

Will these help smooth out my ride on road. I have the OME lift with nitrcharger shocks. When I hit a small bump Cracks on the road it’s like the suspension has no give.

Yes, that's where the IFP really helps, as it has a little more give with small bumps and things like that, so the shock isn't fighting it as much, smoothing things out.
 
I’m in for a set.....

What’s the break point if I have a 3.5 inch lift the IMS45-60912? When you look at the description is says these are for 4-5 inch lift.

Depends on the coils used and if they'll get loose at full extension or not. They'll probably be ok, as long as they're a variable rate coil that says seated at full droop.

If all you want to do is smooth out your ride, you can spend 1/2 the money and get Dobinson’s yellow shocks. They are night and day compared to the nitro charger bricks you are running now.

Thanks @crikeymike I've got Fox IFP 3-5" shocks and 4" Flexicoils on the rear of my Cruiser. The Fox shocks cannot manage the weight of a rear bumper, spare tire, fridge, 2 adults, 2 teens, and 2 dogs. This combination feels great with the Cruiser empty but wallows and bottoms out easily when filled.

I am considering two options:
  • New 3" Flexicoils and IMS shocks to lower the rear for stability
  • Keep the 4" Flexicoils and purchase matching IMS shocks

What would you recommend?

BTW, 3" Flexicoils and 3-4" Fox IFP shocks in the front are great even with ARB, winch, and dual battery but I will eventually replace the Fox shocks at the first sign of leaking.

You could do the shocks first and see how you like it with just that change. Then later change out the coils if you want to lower it.
 
I just replaced my old worn out shocks with stock Tokico’s. Ride is better, but not as good as it was when I first bought it. What should I check out first? Springs are not sagging, but have a lot of miles. Bushings?
 
@crikeymike how do these shocks compare to the monotube remote reservoir shocks? Are these a step up from the yellow twin tubes but less than the remote res shocks? nevermind, i see they are basically upgrades from the twin tubes so it seems they sit inbetween the twin tubes and the remote res shocks. nice!

They are essentially just like the remote resi MRR/MRA options but without the hose and resi and no adjustments in valving.
 
Just wanted to say I picked up front and rear sets of the 4-5" lift model of these from @crikeymike and so far (very early impressions) I'm happy. I was really on the fence between the standard yellow Dobinsons, Ironman Foamcell Pros, and these (and also some ideas of stretching the budget up for MRA's, but I wanted to see how good the performance of non-adjustables could be as I kind of prefer KISS where the performance is ok.)

I'm coming from the OME Nitrocharger shocks the PO installed, so not a lot of basis of comparison, but we have a 1500 mile trip planned over Thanksgiving including some Utah wheeling so should give them a good shakedown. I'll update with impressions after, for now the around town ride has seemed a lot more "plush" than it was before.
