Dobinsons FJ55 Suspension Options

I've been looking at spring options for a FJ55 while my research is not concluded and I don't have the note I've made on front of me atm I'm pondering the following:
LANDROVER Series 2/3 rear parabolic springs, they are cheap enough over in the UK, the appear to be very close to the length of Piggy rear springs, and the pack bolt is in the same place, the eye is a different size however and will take some mixing and matching to make it work, but in theory its an option I'm going to seriously look at.

As I understand 60 front springs will do the job if the bushings are changed? or? I think for shockers a mix of 60 series and Hilux appear to work on paper.

Don't take any of this as gospel, just food for thought.

Bringing the attention of these options and this thread back up to date, as some new stock of the front and rear 1.75" lift leaf springs just arrived today.

And there's a sale on everything from Dobinsons this month too.

With that third spring out of the pack, does it sag in the azz with camping gear, etc. ?
I ordered the 1.75 lift for Ornch, planning on long range tank, but nothing else back there. Wondering if rear will sag when full of fuel? Anybody know the answer to this?

Not many 50 year olds without a bit of sag in the rear end
My rear end don't sag, but I have had some work done back there...
(Wonder how those springs would work SOA)

Anyone know which, if any, Dobinsons IMS shocks would work on our 55s with a ~2" lift? I have OME springs but I'm looking to replace the shocks. Obviously the nice yellow ones in the above referenced kit would work. Just wondering what other options might be out there in a quality shock - that's black. 😂

If a good shock is all you want without all the hype then I like the KYB Excel-G Shocks, it's a twin tube "separate nitrogen gas-charged chamber and oil chamber" and they are a really good shock for the money. I've been putting them on quite a few cars now and use this chart to find my size and correct mounts.

More info on the shocks themselves.

If you just want the "best" then I would be looking at King or Fox and have them build you a bypass in black..

No, none of the IMS are suitable. The FJ55 has its own mounting type front and back, and none of the IMS are directly compatible.

Sounds like you just need to buy $5 in black spray paint if the color is the problem.

Just looking at options. Hard to find definitive information on compatibility with the 55 platform sometimes. Appreciate the reply.
