Do you like your LED light bars? Impressions?

They repaired mine once, then sent a new unit when the repair didn't work, keeping in mind the original purchase was of a reconditioned unit not new, but same warranty.

Exactly the same situation. Love that the warranty is transferable as well.

How'd yours hold up in the incident, fragle?

No issues aside from the fact that it now lives on MC2912's rig.

I never saw the carnage, but have seen buggies at Glamis (Glamis Gone Wild, of course) roll end over end, yet the Rigid's still fired up. Haha.

I sold the rack and light bar to an FJCF buddy who was a serviceman for cheap, cheap......traded in the FJC a few days later on a whim.

See that rack and lightbar circulating around still, and think they paid him $600 more than I charged.

No good deed goes unpunished, right?

Matt I went with the dual 10" singles because they fit in the grill where I wanted to mount them. The 20" wouldn't fit because of where the hood latch sits behind the grill and it would have meant cutting one of the vertical supports out of the grill. As it is, it is very sturdy.

I mounted them by sliding a 1.25"x1/8"piece of aluminum into the backside of the grill slat, drilled through the grill and aluminum and bolting them down.

Scottyrana.....Just curious but would the 20" not mount properly or was there another reason you went with this setup?

I ask because I thought about doing a single 20" and didn't know if the mounting points wouldn't work properly.

By the way what type of mount did you use? One of the Rigid cradles?

The 20" does not fit the stock light tabs of the ARB. Rigid sells various mounting accessories... i just drilled my ARB and bolted it on

I've got a few LED light bars, I love them. They started as generic Chinese light bars, and after a few months of working with them I have changed the design and improved it quite a bit. They have since purchased the design and I am now able to import them at a super low cost. I've thought about a group buy but not sure about interest.

For the cost I cannot lie, they are incredible. I've gone through many different LED Light bars and finally gave up, picked a company and asked if I could rework the optics and see if they are interested. They agreed and I went to work. I went from a 30* spot, to a 12* spot. Changed the front lens material, and
improved the cooling aspects. After about 8 months I'm happy, and they are super happy. Hopefully in the future I can gather a team and start making a US made light bar that will compete with the big boys.

You going to share the name of the company or where one might purchase one of the light bars??

Thanks Scottryana for that info. I wanted a 20 but since it doesn't fit in the grill ill go a different route. I'm really glad I know it doesn't fit before I buy one. Thanks

People are probably tired of seeing my pics, but I have (2) 10" Rigid specters in my grill, very happy with them! 1/2 the form factor of the 20" E series and like 85% of the light.

I like that! Nice and clean.

How much better is the beam spread/light coverage of the lights mounted to the top bar of a ARB bumper compared to the roof?

I did not register.....but haven't had any issues ..so really can't answer that question

You would probably get better distance and spread on the roof but
still amazing distance on the bumper

Why don't you just get the 40"?

I am running the hanma chinaman 40" bar on my roofrack. For rear back up/dust lights I am running rigid dually d2 wide beam (flood).













The Hanma is holding up well so far. One thing I noticed when I tested the Rigid 40" and Hanma 40" light output side by side was that the Chinaman 40" was as bright if not brighter than the Rigid. The Rigid led output was more crisp and output light farther than the Hanma. Overall the quality of light output from the 5w Cree leds in the Rigid could not be matched. For me and my budget, the Hanma is just fine.

I have a 40" xmiter with a custom flood/projector mix. The LED bar is controlled with an OEM aux light dash switch to energize the system, then the LED bar comes on/off with the high-beams using the usual switch on the steering column.

I would suggest it is easy to over do it (see first sentence above).

Even if driving alone at night on deserted roads, today's roads have a lot of reflective signs, posts, lines on the road, markers, barriers, etc etc. Sometimes the light reflected back from all this safety crap can almost be blinding in-of-itself.

Much to my amazement, I have found that 99.9999 percent of the time I use my high-beams, I am not driving Baja, at 120mph, in the middle of the desert. All that being said, I do enjoy taking the lonely way home at night, just to melt snow off the trees !!!!

This is exactly the reason I didn't go with a 50" single row on the roof. After doing the (2) 10" I really don't see myself having a need for that much light. I am not driving deserted stretches of road or trail at speed and you can't use it on the highway, without blinding everyone. I bought a couple flush mount D2's to use as backup lights to be cut into the wind deflector in the rear but I have decided against that idea too because it would blind other drivers. So I think I will do (4) D2 diffused at the corners of my roof rack for campground lighting and call it done.
