Hit the government trail before working this weekend, super wet and mucky . Trail ended at gonzo on Snowmass, would love to ride that trail but scared lol. Hit a oncoming marathon on most the downhill on the way back:(

I was hiking north of Durango the other weekend on a trail called Cascade creek trail and there's a nice waterfall up top. As I was driving through an area with cabins strewn about, I saw this aqueduct thing and wondered if anyone rides on top!!! It was well maintained from a quick glance.

I squeezed in a ride this morning before the brutal heat returns, my usual neighborhood/suburban route. Except today, on my favorite part of the ride (gravel, dirt), I hit some soft, deep pebble-sized gravel at about 15mph which grabbed my front tire. I went down hard on my right side: helmet did it's job (and no head/neck issues), was sure I destroyed my shoulder but xrays showed nothing. My right hip is killing me, can't walk unassisted: scan shows possible fracture of some small bone which will require followup. And for a big bonus, broke 4 ribs. Yay. Bike looks fine.

Thankfully I was in a town park, and they were running a program for children. One of the leaders ran over and assisted, then he radio'ed for another woman to come over. She had medical training and was a huge help; and carted me in her Gator back up to pavement where my wife was waiting there for me.

This sucks, but que-ever...

@little_joe Damn dude. All the best for recovery. Hopefully doc gave you something to take the edge off.

I got in a ride today - a safe one fortunately. Rode to Napa for a tool to help on some 60 Series stuff haha! It was only about four miles and mostly on a nice bike path near my house, but it was good to stretch my legs. I've mostly been riding the Bob Jackson roadie. I need to get back on the Trek ATB soon just for kicks.

Apparently I have a right acetabular nondisplaced fracture (the socket in the hip). I have to go see an ortho but I cannot fudging get up or move around. It took me 45 minutes to get off the couch this morning.

Oh man this sucks mucho.

Dang, gravel is the devil! I’ve had some bad bang ups in the past because of gravel.

I hope you heal up quickly!

Im pulling for better feels soon, man. Take care of the nonphysical head effects, too.

One of my worst and most ironic was 3mph on a small raft of dry oak leaves while turning into my driveway after a morning racing crits a couple miles away. One millisecond I'm wondering if there are any leftovers in the fridge and the next millisecond I'm wondering why I'm laying on the ground

¡ Verdad!

@ little Joe: Heal up well!

I did some MTB rides with my wife and some friends on the Kingdom Trails in East Burke, Vermont.

back to the mountains to ride some more. we started off in the alberta badlands at a family reunion. my brother in law wanted to warm up by climbing some of the badlands hills. my 16 year old has become a very strong climber so my wife placed a challenge as to who could race up the hill fastest. up hill racing! 🤨.

anyway he won but we did a 95 meter elevation in 7 minutes roughly. that sucked!! anyway we then went to sibbald creek and rode this yesterday…
