The day I finished the steering I started the truck and the steering wheel started jerking like crazy with no input from me. I spent some timing trying to figure what was wrong but eventually figured out that I was incorrectly supplied a high pressure -6 adapter for the low pressure side AND had purchased this box with a return nipple on the high pressure side. Anyway, had to wait a day or two for the right fitting last week but that fixed the issue. I also wanted to do a different cooler for the return side.

I ordered some alignment plates and set the toe.

I test fitted the soft top and pulled it back off and painted the bows. They were powder coated black so I just rattle canned some tan on them to match the truck.
Took it for a 120 miles jaunt yesterday and visited the Big Eye Mine

Just curious, but do folks who stay in this shelter "fix" things that are deteriorating? from the pics, appears not
They do but to what extent I'm not certain. I've been here three times of over the last 5 years and it seemed a bit tidier this trip out. I was actually just thinking today how I wouldn't mind spending a weekend here fixing it up. The cabin is about 27 miles from pavement and while that's not too far in a side by side, in a vehicle it's a two hour drive. I think that gas deterred vandalism while at the same time deterring repair.

Looks like a perfect day. Thanks for the pics.

Curious about the logo on cover of what looks to be a coring drill.
Reminds me of

It was great weather to get some windshield time....errr perhaps I should say wheel time. I believe it is an Ingersol Rand logo. I did a little reading on the Big Eye mine and it appears to have been active from 1905 until sometime in the mid 50s. A caretaker lived in the cabin until her passing in 1983.

Last summer I brought some spare 60 wheels out that I had back home, the wheels that were on the 40 previously had the wrong offset that required wheel spacers once the disk axle was installed. Last week installed some new BFG mud terrains on them. I also used a friends' welder out here and burned in the steering box "boxing kit" to the frame I had made for the 60 steering conversion.

you always make everything Awesome Roma

@roma042987 I see in the WDYD to your 40 thread, you may be interested in making more of these through that shop? I am interested. Curious if they sewed any loops to secure the top to the FST bows? I couldn't see any in the photos you shared.

He asked me if I wanted some and I said no...i wanted to see if they were needed. It didn't seem to bubble up at 75mph but I may have them added anyway, super easy to add.

For that FJ60 steering box mount was that something you made and brought to Yuma or did you purchase that from a vendor?
