All that random crap you always wanted to see...

Wait, did I post this? Did you look at page 4?

Griffin and spal combo unit, not really application specific, made my own mounts. Nope. Running air to water from frozenboost. Room for a heat exchanger in front of the grill and a intercooler on top of the engine. Hard to fit air to air. Thanks!

Wish I could tell what kind of difference this Intercooler setup makes. Doesn't seem like much though!

Entertaining either just a water/meth injection kit or maybe getting crazy and finding a way to fit and air to air. Or maybe nothing. But it's in the way of the valves and it just makes an extra mess of s*** so... wish I could tell what it was doing.

Frozen boost intercooler cores are pretty poor quality. I had the 600hp one and was not happy with it's performance. It's definitely the IC underperforming and not the heat exchanger, etc as the fluid never heat soaks. If I knew then what I know now I would just have ordered the Bell core and had end tanks made. Bell will custom build an intercooler to your drawing.

Why can't you fit air to air like Dustin set up?

Well... I think my radiator might be in the way.
If not then my winch is in the way. I might be able to move my power steering cooler and fit something but I'm not to sure. It's tight the way I have everything set up.

Take a look at the Donaldson IC that cimarron has in his truck. It sits up above his winch. If you are running an auxiliary PS cooler other than the paperclip in front, then you may need to find it a new home.

Yeah... I think the air to air would just be easier. I'm not sure how much effort I want to go through at this point in putting in an intercooler. Almost think it'd be easier just to stuff in a water/meth setup and be done with it.

And I really would like to know how much this intercooler is lowering IATs so I could decide if it's worth keeping or not.

Love the stance of your truck. How does she run down the road?

Well she is on tons, 40s, and 3 linked, with hydro assist but she cruises down the road great. Goes about as fast as you'd like to... or faster. Tracks straight. Doesn't hardly vibrate.

Has a bit of body roll but that's largely in part to the springs. I think if I adjusted the stops, added stiffer top springs. They sagged out on me quick and the tops are 225 bottoms 350 I think so the tops are a good bit softer. I think with a 300# top spring they'd be about set without raising my ride height too much. I also have no sway bar. Anyhow... point is I think there are some things I could tune to help this to some degree. But it's tall and heavy and flexy so... I've done the best I can. Anyway it's definitely manageable but it's not stock. Also adding to this is the welded rear end which I really am beginning to hate but even a spartan is $$$

Has almost no exhaust due to space limitations and so she drones pretty bad at highway speeds but... all mitigated with more money I'm sure.

No return to center. Steering is pretty sensitive. Think I could use a larger diameter ram to tone down the input some.

Umm... it's definitely not for everyone but I'll get her a little more dialed in and then for the most part she's pretty decent on and off road.

Great work.

What did you end up doing with the steering shaft?

Any videos?

Umm there are some videos on IG but nothing worth troubling yourself over if you don't have IG. 80on4ds

I cut some HDPE into a puck and drilled it out. Then welded rebar to the rag joint. Then I notched my shock tower for the steering shaft. Running a 2" BL just FYI.

Drilled out pitman for 3/4" bolt. Running 3/4 - 7/8 heims with .25 wall 1.5" DOM drag link and tie rods.

Thanks man!

Thanks man. I'd love to run air to air if I could fit it.

It's just the stock trans cooler, re-purposed since I'm running a manual trans. IDK maybe I can make it fit. Not sure about tubing though and fitting between my batteries. Could be tight.

I'll definitely look into it though. I hit 1400 in a hurry the other day; and just going down the highway, if I lay into it I can hit 1300 pretty dang quick. It's fueling hard though and the Lucas 300 PODs don't help either, they're smokey as hell. Even at full boost on the highway at 80 mph it wasn't clearing up. Would definitely spend the extra 200$ on some proper injectors if I could re-do. They make some power, and they lay down some smoke if that's what you're after but between them and a denny T stage 2 pin, I had to dial my AFC way back and it still smokes like a SOB if I get on it. So that's definitely part of my high EGTs.

I think if I could get a proper intercooler and an HX35 I could fuel hard, not smoke as much, make more power and be happier.

It's just a matter of funding and at this point this thing has been sucking me dry.

Yep, I didn't want to add more money to do another intercooler after the last one didn't fit and an expense of about a grand. We tried to stuff in a 1000+hp Bell A/W intercooler core and the shop worked on it and it wouldn't fit. So I did water meth in addition to the current IC.

IC is actually a Mishimoto. My air filter housing is a Donaldson.
