@Markuson @Rigger @ChowChilla @cruiserdan @BVCOTaco @Mendocino have you guys registered yet? Let's make sure we get more 200s there this year! @cruiseroutfit has already registered, so I know that's at least two 200s counting me and Kurt
Registered yesterday morning! Be my first CM! Was thinking about towing the 40 series out, but the camper will be towed instead. Still need to get a campsite. Was thinking the OK RV Park next to the event. Where is everyone else camping at?
I'm still completely stock and with the wife going back to school this year, its going to be tough... its unfortunately going to be a last min. decision with my scheduledRegistered yesterday morning! You can absolutely enjoy Moab in stock form.
A quick upgrade you can do in a very short bit of time=
Add AT tires and remove your side steps.
With those quickie changes, you’ll be able to run a ton of fun, scenic trails including slick rock.
Last minute registration won’t Work though bc it will fill up. On the other hand, there will be plenty of opportunities to meet up with folks for trail runs of your own. I’d happily do a couple non-crazy trails with you. Also...many people show up early to do their own trail runs.
Matt, why did you edit out the hood of your non-Toyota vehicle?
Leave it to a Jeep to make fresh tracks
(low hanging fruit, can't resist)
Hey Matt,
Looks like a great pre-run!
Were you camping at altitude? Or day tripping from town? I see an RTT... Either way...
Curious what temperatures you found there this time of year?
I don't know what you're talking about.
No camping on this trip. It was unseasonably cold, windy and snowy, and it would have been miserable to camp. I had to work a full day on Friday, so I actually flew into town and flew home. The flight on Sunday got canceled as a nasty storm rolled in and dropped 6" of snow in about one hour. It was a pretty crazy trip for weather, so I'm glad I had rented a big Airbnb for the whole crew. Side benefit is that this time of year all the accommodations are pretty cheap and the trails are empty.
Thx.
And ya...we all FROZE TO DEATH during a recent camp on a Mojave Road run in late Dec. Crazy cold like...dog water dish started freezing over almost immediately with bone-chilling wind at about 6800ft.
Air B&B FTW!
Camping is one of my favorite activities, but when it's below freezing I don't love it. A hot shower, hot food, cold drinks, cards and movies with a bunch of buddies under one roof is a lot more enjoyable this time of year. We had a really nice place that averaged out to $57 a person for the entire weekend too, so that's pretty hard to beat!
Got an exciting update to share about CM19. For the first time ever, there will be a women driver only run!! Men are welcome to ride along as passengers, but all drivers must be women. The run will be Chicken Corners on Friday 5/3 which is super scenic and family friendly with a nice short hike at the end of the trail. My beautiful wife will be leading this run in a 200, and it would be awesome to see some better halves from the 200 crew representing. @Markuson @indycole @Mendocino I know you all have adventurous and capable women in your lives - can you float the idea by them? Looking forward to a super fun day!
