thats great to hear.
so a follow up question that i have....once you get it, can you get it again or are you much less to likely to get it again, or nearly immune to it?

Everything I've read says the Jury is still out on this part - but if it's similar to most other infectious agents, and if my degree in Biology taught me anything, once you've been exposed to it once, your body will produce memory B cells against it. These memory cells live in your body for decades after exposure and, if exposed again, generate a much more rapid, targeted immune response. So generally, even if you're not IMMUNE, the next time you come down with it, your body knocks it out much more quickly than it otherwise would have. Generally the virus doesn't get a chance to really take hold and wreak havoc like it does the first time around. Subsequent infections are usually much more mild, symptomatically, and much shorter lived.

Fauci addressed this is an online interview. He said that nothing had been confirmed by testing, but he would be shocked if people did not gain immunity after infection as that is how the body reacts to viruses in general.

I've seen conflicting information on the immunity, but can't really find information about other situations where you don't get some level of immunity.

Diane is doing much better today - up, around, and finally able to eat and drink and keep it down. I've been having headaches, coughing, and sleeping much more than normal yesterday and today, but it's looking like it's mostly going to pass me by with just mild symptoms.

Along those lines, I often listen to podcasts during my weekly commute. This one was from 3/10 and had Michael Osterholm on. He is an expert on infectious disease and it has been his life’s work. Joe Rogan can be a little nuts at times but in the same breath has had some very interesting interviews over the years. I thought this one was very interesting as he was very thorough in regards to COVID. He actually wrote about it in a book published in 2017. He also talked about the boom in Lymes disease in the NE along with CWD.
to @BROKEROB1 point. There is a portion of this when he discusses the possible effects on pregnant women.

Das s*** show in PA continues...

It sounds like my brother in law may have it. He works in an Amazon warehouse and a number of other guys who work there have come down with it. He definitely has SOMETHING and the symptoms are in line. He's 27 and relatively healthy so I suspect he'll be OK - but he was just visiting my mother in law the other night, and she's a mess health wise...

Can't do that. When is everyone going to learn. :(

That's been the hardest part for me, haven't seen my parents since this all started and my grandmother is staying with them and I can't visit but it is the right thing to do

Same mother-in-law invited herself to my house (across state lines) to hand off an Easter Basket to my daughter. While it was certainly very kind of her to think of us, we made her stay outside the house and 6 feet away. I'm immune compromised, I'm not messing around with this. The only risk I'm taking is getting essentials - basically a once a week trip to the grocery store(s) to find the provisions we need. I'd send my wife but after the car break in and some of the horrible behavior I've seen in checkout lines and parking lots, I hesitate to send her into the circus my town has become. As of today the Governor mandated that EVERYONE outside wear a mask or face covering of some form.

Same here, it is breaking my mom's heart to not see the grandkids. We also missed the big family Easter dinner up in NJ on the family farm, which was tough on my grandmother, but she's quite literally the trifecta of risk factors - elderly (91 years old); immune compromised (on immunotheropy for cancer) and lung issues (cancer has moved to lungs).

Basically most of my immediate family is a risk factor so we're all just staying home - lots of family teleconferences:

Me - On Immunosupressents for Crohn's Disease.
Middle Brother - Wife is a healthcare worker (P.A.)
Youngest brother - Also Crohn's; plus wife is a healthcare worker (RN)
Parents - Dad has Waldenstroms Macroglobulinoma (type of blood cancer) so his white sells periodically crash making him super susceptible to literally anything
Grandmother - Lung Cancer, Elderly, immune compromised.
Then I have a cousin who lives in Staten Island and his wife is at "ground zero" on her med-school rotations dealing directly with Covid 19 patients.

Damn when you list it out - we are kind of a mess!

I've never been happier to live in the country with some space between my house and the neighbors'.

My wife has been able to get Instacart deliveries every other week so far so neither of us has had to go to a store in a month+. Almost everything that can be disinfected or re packaged in our ziplock bags is done so before going in the pantry or fridge. We just got a delivery and it took my wife an hour to put everything away. My parents came home from their beach condo last weekend and we made them stay outside to talk to us and the kids when they came by. We're waiting 2-3 days before we open mail or packages. But people in our neighborhood are letting their kids all play together so definitely people have taken different tacts to this virus.

I get it all.. Sunday our challenged neighbors had a big Easter Dinner. I’m out in our barn tinkering on my workbench. There’s a rapping on my toolbox, the kid, 22 years old, startled me as he is standing right behind me. Come over and eat says he. I’m like, no thanks, we’re good. He leaves. Next thing ya know his gramma is sticking her head in our back door and yelling for my wife. I come up from the barn and kindly tell her no thanks. She walkers off in a huff. These fools just don’t get it. Throwing a full on Easter bash? WTF? Now they’re pissed at us. It’s as if we actually called the crackers Pennsyltuckians to their faces. I prolly should have long ago. Other than that contact, all our friends and family have been really good about respecting the recommendations and our isolation. Good luck everyone and stay safe.

Well, even for a mild case, my wife's virus is hanging on. She had two days without a fever, but it returned last night and again tonight. Today marks day #10. She is pretty bummed and tired of being stuck in a room by herself.
Bummer Andy, I hope she gets over this soon, very soon.
