Why we didn't do this sooner is beyond me. Post your pics and stories here.

This was at a recent trip to AOAA with @shmukster @Pacer @YotaFun. We were 15min into our morning near the entrance of the western reserve. I was climbing a medium difficulty obstacle and "bang" some trail diagnosis and a broken main shaft in the t case was expected.

I was correct about the breakage.

What was the aftermath= was it driveable?

21 spline stuff?

You need the marlin 23 spline upgrades. Specially with your motor. Talk to those guys, their stuff is little more than the trail gear junk but there is a reason. I met Marlin and Big Mike many years back and they are just good souls who make some great stuff.

21 or 23 spline wouldn't of mattered here. MC no longer makes a upgraded mainshaft. The one I broke was oem cryo treated. Now I have a TG/Longfeild chromolly main shaft.

Ugghh

Was this the part that broke many moons ago at Big Dogs?

I did break a 21 spline t case input gear that was from TG. It was a design flaw. It broke at a hard angle. (Stress riser) the revised gear had a nice smooth radius that eliminated that stress riser.

So here is the rest of the damage. The shaft is cracked, bent, and twisted. The other damage was the speedo gear and the housing.

Damn...that's a mess...what caused it?
Best guess? It was just it's time. After 15 years of abuse it gave up. The doubler and 4.77:1 low range gears didn't help. Neither did the v8... or 36" tires
