I dont have enough full info. Tape may be supercedeing or continued an discontiened. A new supplier nitto may supply? I will post with wat I know. The more inquiries wit your parts dept creates demand for any part to let you know. We work as a team an for the most part nothing is discontinued. There is other markets that continue an there is demand which will create a part. Toyota will go hard you have to have pull love an admiration plus $$$$$$$$. Lol

Please keep neg comments to yourself thank you

Um.... what?

"Toyota will go hard you have to have pull love an admiration plus $$$$$$$$"
I enjoy going hard when pulling love. Sometimes it yields admiration plus $$$.

But most of the time it takes plus $$$$$$$$ to get you hard love.

Jesus! I'm not a grammar teacher nor am I big on grammar....but holy sh@t son! Use real words, you're only a letter or two away from a real word man!

Ok. You posted a pic of a roll of tape. Yes, tape.

It costs between 6-10 bucks for Tesa, 3M, or any other high heat electrical harness tape. What makes this Yazaki tape so special?

I really tired my grammar decoder wheel and diagramming the word clusters and failed.

What idea are you trying to convey?

Yazaki is one of the wire harness suppliers for Toyota. This is electrical tape for the purists.

1 more pic of the tape please.

This gets to the level of absurd puritanism. Are they going to import special Toyota distilled water for the cooling system? Special Japanese R-134 for the AC? Japanese air for the tires? I'm all for OEM when it matters (hoses and belts) but tape? There's not going to be a Pebble Beach with Velocity channel show of boater hatted ment with clipboards going over the wire harness of a 25 year old truck and noting "Ah, obvious change from the 3M to Yazaki here around the #6 cylinder. Dock three points!"

The Yazaki harness tape is exactly/essentially the same as Elliott EE 201 Hi-Temp Dry Vinyl Wire Harness Tape that has been the subject of other threads. That is also becoming hard to get, but still available if you google for it. But I'm leaving the grammar of post #1 for others to sort out. In particular I've got no comment about "pulling love."

Could I have a personal pic sent to my inbox so that I will just have in in case I forget what a roll of tape looks like?

Maybe link one to Imgur too so that it doesn't get deleted over time. That is actually a real concern here on Mud. A lot of great threads from the past are less useful because the pics are no longer available.

No worries, got it figured out. Fed it to google translate and here's the gist of his message:

I would have called a four point dock, but you are on the right track. I am guilty of falling for this though. I just ordered an OEM fuel filter for my '94 because I am doing the HG and that is the best time to do one. I had an old Wix fuel filter that I ordered for one of my other Toyota trucks about 8 years ago sitting around because it was a PITA to get to. I actually installed it on the truck I am doing the HG on now, but even though it looked the same, the little bracket didn't reach all the way to the inner nut on the intake manifold. No mind that the one that was in there looked indentical as far as filter end of the operation and the fact that the last guy left the inner nut off because it is a PITA to get to without pulling the manifold. My mind raced. "Is it the same inside?", "What if it looks the same on the outside, but a 2RZ-FE might need a special flow rate or something that this Land Cruiser from 3 years earlier doesn't have?" "What if the Wix just lets any old thing traipse into my 1FZ-FE!?"

"F-it, why take the chance, order the "right" part."

Anyone want a brand new Wix fuel filter?

The tape cost around 23.00 an is the matching correct color. The other tape for engine harness is nitto no. 223s, check nitto USA.

The element on aftermarket ones brake down clog up cause restiance. the oem or npn japan would be a better choice far as service life an reliability.

So...

1. We are making fun of someone that is clearly a non-English as first language speaker - but I doubt many of us could do as well in (his?) language, whatever that is.

2. It is pretty entertaining to try to decode the messages.

3. (He?) seems to be pretty knowledgeable in things tape and things Toyota.

4. jay said: "an(d) is the matching correct color."... would that be "black"?

Carry on @jay!

Yeah, guys, come on, now. English might not be his first language. How many of you have struggled using a second or third language. At least he tries AND brings the super random consumable part numbers to the table. Most other members arecon here like "hey, I can't even figure out how to Google search. What is the color code for the tires? I want to match the black to a dildo I'm working on..." or "can anyone else put in the 5 minutes it takes to find the part number for this part I'm describing, but am too lazy to photograph and load with my smart phone?"
I didn't even realize the damn electrical tape had a part number in service! I assumed it was something dealers got off a shop consumables list in bulk with stuff like grease and oil. This is a nice find, but I'm sure someone will chime in with "I just use XYZ123 brand from the Home Depot. I have to replace it every time I run to the gas station for Swishrrs and lottery tickets, but it costs $0.23 per roll so whatever"
F-off and let jay do his thing. He is contributing instead of sucking the fun out of this forum like guys who want to argue over whether or not to loctite the heat shield bolts.
Carry on, Jay, you are doing good things!
Post pictures of this kind of stuff in-use too. Hopefully people will learn something and be a little more respectful.
