I was given a pair of very used Aisin hubs for my 40. I took them apart to clean them up and lost some of the small parts. So I ordered a fake pair of new Aisin hubs for 40 bucks shipped! Here are some pics...

The construction is actually quite nice. I think if u have a 40 u dont wheel much or hard these are a option. I had lost parts to my aisin dials, so I just used the Chinese dials and face and they matched the aisins fine. With wheels up I tested them out and they engaged pretty fast. Here is the back side of the Chinese face...

They fine to look at. I put a set on my 40,as it never goes off road. But if you wheel them you will brake them.

you can also use chromo hub gears from RCV or TG specially if you run chromo birf and axles

Picked up a Trooper with fake aisins. First time I used one I had to disassemble it where it sat when it wouldn't
engage . Unfortunately I needed it to get out of the rut I was stuck in. Save your money , buy real ones.
The other issue was the bolts they supplied to attach the locking hub to the wheel hub were sloppy fit
and wouldn't stay tight even with locktite. Luckily one finally fell off on the road which forced me to scour
junkyards to find real Aisins. There's way way fewer of those for Troopers than for Land Cruisers

How to know which Aisin is real the other one is fake? Anyone has a link where I can buy one for my LJ78, manual. (Originally auto) but it has been converted to manual.

It will say Aisin on the dial.

Thankfully no one can add that text to the fake ones… otherwise we’ll be in trouble.

Alternatively the long bodied ones say ASCO on them.
