That is a bug eyed Sprite, not a 3000

Well yeah ..... Hence the comment not the one your looking for. I know the sprites well. Just my contribution to the derailment of this thread ;) its not the one I mentioned earlier; just a spotting commuting to property and not for sale Al

But yes hard top and grill were throwing me off.

Sorry I had to work instead of hunting down a toy for one of you guys. Should finish tomorrow and maybe not in time to make a camping opp but hopefully early enough to swing through lake lure.

oh I know.... Andrea wants a toy one day though. I did once "drive" a mg that was chain towed 15 miles behind a suburban

Sucks I can't make it to the Greensboro cars and coffee , working in area ,seeing nice cars everywhere.

Whoa. That's this morning. Anyone else going? I can be there in about 30 min.

Hey folks - met "Rice" today at the Greensboro Cars and Coffee. My cruiser wasn't behaving so I was driving my daily. I'll be happy to bring her to the Winston Cars and Coffee.

For info:
attached a picture of my ride - it was bought not built (sorry guys) - but I did just restore and rebuild a CJ5 so I have the ability, just got lazy on this one and figured I'd inherit someone else's project.
1969 FJ40 - Targa Blue
TBI 350 crate motor
Needs rear driveshaft balancing, rear wheel straightening, and apparently a fuel pump :)

That said, I did manage to get her going when I got home and did a quick run back to New Garden to see if Rice was still there but alas too late.

I hate hearing about your snooty BMW owner's experience at the Winston Cars and Coffee - never had any douche-type experiences at the Greensboro one - I don't even hear any "dick bigger" benchracing going on - which is refreshing. I'd be more than happy to join up with you guys at the Winston event. My wife's 'other' car is an e30 convertible in crap condition. Maybe I'll bring it along and park it right near the M3's... :)

This thread has been completely HJ'ed so I will go ahead and post some pics from the Greensboro C&C. I won't try guessing the number of cars present but the show has a history of being large and this is the largest I've seen.

A salute to some guys in the NCFJ club. They saw my 40 and parked all around it so it could feel the love. As I was leaving got a chance to talk to a couple of the members .... very nice folks.

You have already met James (@jamesurq). James, the pic of the '69 is awesome! Can't wait to see it in person. As a reasonably close neighbor I'm happy to come help turn wrenches when you're ready. Send me a PM with contact when you get a chance.

The square back was for sale. Did speak with the owner. He was very proud of his ride .... to the tune of $22,500. Nice, yes. But not that nice.

Yum.

Powerplant from a 4.2 Liter E-type Jaguar. Great looking ride.

A cougar with a creative power steering fluid heater. Just run the PS line against a header. Not sure why I never thought of it.

Calling Jason Free! Factory sunroof dude.

In keeping with the Hijack theme of this thread.

Yes, it was clean. BUT ....

As with most British rides it really did have a loose nut.

Was delighted that DadofJason was able to meet and enjoy some of the rides. The selfie happened thanks to the very clean TR6 paint job.

For sale Rover

From the Rover. Interesting idea. unbolt the entire Birf and bolt on a new one. Ta-Dah!

That's all.

Hope all can attend the Winston show.

Fantastic pictures :D

PS fluid heater? Why would we use something like that when everyone I seem to talk to is rushing to install larger PS coolers?

Looks like the owner of the TR6 is a customer of Richard Good at Goodparts. Good does the triple SU / Zenith Stromberg set-ups as well as suspension bits for the 6. Normally the TR6 has just two ZS carbs. The triple setup is the bees knees from what I understand. Super clean 6. As for the loose nut, this bumper sticker sums it up perfectly:

Mostly that's just me being a little smarta$$. I just couldn't believe someone would rest a PS line against a header and be okay with it. What the heck was he thinking?

We used to have that same bumper sticker on my 1st car - a '77 MGB.

Lol. I'm thick.

Oh how I would like to borrow this for Saturday.
