I agree CampTeq is ultra cool design and Eric is a great guy. I understand a production model is not too far off.

Hey Gang, I have been cranking away at a bunch of stuff. New website has full gallery on the front page. scroll across or click any image for a larger view. There are a couple of tops in production and I have 1 spot left at the 20% price, and proto V.2 will be up for sale probably after cruise moab
What is the weight capacity of the top as a roof rack?
I weigh 160# and when I walk on the top, it does not sag - there are 1" x 1" tube aluminum "joists" running the short way about 30" on center, and they make the top very strong. Last summer, I had 4 Pelican #1550 cases on the top, at the very front, filled with spares and camping stuff - probably weighed 40-50# each, and 4 large mesh river-rafting duffles with hose for the onboard hot water shower hose, tarps, etc. - probably another 100# - and when I'd emptied the 8 Sceptre 40L jerry cans of veggie oil into my tank, they went on top too. Never noticed it. Plus I have the two Hannibal awnings attached to the top.
I used to have a Hannibal rack with an AutoHome Columbus RTT on it, which completely filled the footprint of the Hannibal rack, and while it was a great setup, I think that the totally unexpected killer app. for the Camptec top is the utility of having the ability to carry stuff on the top.
You've got me tempted to ditch my trailer and get one of these
Edit: How tall of a person can stand up fully with a cut away roof?
