Man, those 4* shims are like magic. The steering now is perfect. Tracking. Perfect.

Put another 50 trouble free miles on it and I’m calling this one ready for delivery.

This is the first 3.70 /H55 truck I’ve ever driven and I’m pretty happy with it. The RPMs are super low at 80…..2500 ….. I’m sure it will need shifting to 4th in the hills but the nice thing is 3rd gear will now be viable to pull the big hills and maintain speed

Speedo is 20% slow

Got home and tested the new brake controller and airbags. Ready for delivery tomorrow.

Do you think 3.70 + h55 is a good combo for a rig that does a lot of highway miles, even without the sniper? This build is very inspiring.

I know @HemiAlex rocks his that way

I’ve had mine this way for 40,000 miles.

On a stock truck with 31-33” tires it’s fine. I’d do that again in a heartbeat. I’ve driven a few trucks like that and they were great.

Add bumpers, winch and it gets a bit laggy. I’ve got an easy 700 lbs of junk above stock and even on the highway, it’s ok. I can do 85 on flat ground. It’s mostly when I get out of the city that I don’t like it.

I’m swapping to 4.11’s before next wheeling season. I need a little bit more on road rpm in the mountains in both hi and lo range.

I’m also at 340,000 miles so my engine is tired. I want to get a little bit of the lugging of the engine gone by putting more gearing and torque to the ground. I want to keep the truck to about 75mph max speed. The 4.11 gears will do that perfectly.
