That one was running/driving too. Congrats!

I posted that on my Facebook as something i was lusting after at the moment. funny

We probably are lusting after it for the same reasons.

I've had my eye out for a 65-67 domestic 45 pick up for a while. My criteria included:

Original paint
No modifications
Original power train
Minimal rust
Driving condition

Obviously you can't always get everything you want, but this one comes pretty close. The fact that the guy has had it for 45 years is a huge selling point for me. We have conversed a bit by phone. He is a retired mechanical engineer, and has always keep it in driving condition. It has never been out of service.

Good luck on your trip. A friend and I just did Phoenix to Dallas and back in 2 days. 32 ish hours of driving in 2 days. It was still a fun trip.

Always fun to take road trips for your new treasures. I went to Tucson to get my 45 a few years back and my neighbor and I made a 2 day trip of it from Cali. Recently I moved from Grass Valley which is 10 miles from your pickup point, good luck and a safe drive for your trip and the fun begins.

If you think that's good, you should see some of the more scenic hiways.

Congrats on your purchase. I think you got a good one. 45 years, same owner means a lot IMO.

Agreed. It was a major deciding factor, to make the purchase. Not only am I buying a truck, but I'm also buying that 45 year relationship.

The truck wears its original CA black tags and has been in service the entire time he has owned it. I can't wait to meet him and hear some stories.

One of my trucks was family owned for 40 + years and was in service and driven all those years. Not only the history but here in California, even if they sit in a field they don't rust too bad, if it's been used and not parked, I bet your new 45 is going to be rust free. You will be amazed when you see the floors!! Surprised how good the weather has been on your trip!
