NICE! I'd like to meet up with some of you Cali Mudders to experience your trails. I need to get my truck build going again. Dang "supply chain" issues.

Started the morning yesterday with working on the Rig, as most of you know I’m a big fan of the OEM lockers.
Before any wheeling trip I always check them on the dirt driveway that lead to my shop in the backyard and they locked right up Thursday night before I put the Rig on the trailer.
Well Friday we hit the trail and when we get to the first obstacle the rear locker would not lock up 😡
It wasn’t a problem I made it all the way to winch hill 1 using the front locker only.
But there was no way I was going to tackle that obstacle with out both locker working.
After some trouble shooting I think it’s in the
Locker Computer.
I have heard you could manually lock the locker but never tried it.
Now was the time so we went to work on it and with not much fuss was able to get it manually locked.
That my good friend Kenn Son Wyatt, helping me, he jumped right in with out being asked and we got the job done in short order and we were back on the trail and tackling winch hill 1
More on that later.

Fordyce is on my bucket list!

You said this last year 😂
True! It's still there.
It might happen 2023, if my wife doesn't get her Yellowstone trip scheduled.
If it happens 2023, it'll be Rubicon and Fordyce.

Don’t leave us out 😎

The control boxes for these things are beyond robust - they're very simple devices. Check out your actuator - see post #92 (locker actuator rebuild - https://forum.ih8mud.com/threads/locker-actuator-rebuild.551069/page-5).
Typically its either the wiring has a broken wire (happened me to, these wires are just old and brittle) or the motor gets gummed up.
Broski's been having a problem with his locker off and on and I'm pretty sure he has a brand new Toyota locker motor in there the last time I asked him.

I'm guessing it's not his motor and its down to the wiring. I'm in agreement with you as well as it's generally not the locker computer. If it was a problem, it's time to bypass it using 2 30amp relays and rocker switches SPDT. This then allows for individual control of both front and rear locker separately.

It's happened to me on two occasions where I've tested it at home and it locks prior to a trip and find out at the trail end it stopped working. OEM lockers are the way to go compared to air lockers as a viable locker solution. All you need is a socket, impact wrench and a screw driver to remove the elocker motor, manually engage or disengage the locker gear, then replace the locker motor. It will stay in that position till you manually dis-engage it at the end of the trail.

note: I recommend bringing a power probe as part of the trail tools. It's the perfect tool to diag elec issues. You can also send power to the motor while still in the axle housing or outside the axle housing to check if the motor is functioning. All you need is power and ground to 2 pins to make it function. Reverse the polarity to change gear direction. Do NOT over power as it will jam the elocker motor which requires disassembly to realign the motor gears as they get out of phase. Always pulse the power till you hear it get close and then 1 zap more to be sure. No more than that!

I was telling him offline to ditch the actuator part and just get the cable that the non-US market got. Neato stuff

Been trying to get here for several years !!
Hit me up I definitely want to come back this trail delivers.

manually locking the locker worked like a charm ran the hole trail including all winch hills

It crazy but you get cell reception through the hole trail 💪
After leaving Meadow lake we took the HWY back around and decided to drop in to Committee crossing.
We camped there for the nite
