@cruiseroutfit curious if you guys have any thoughts when comparing the BP51's to the Dobs MRA's since you deal with both (or anyone else in this thread that has experience with both). Solid amount of positive feedback from you and many others on the BP51's - just wondering where they stack up on ease of adjustability, ride quality, build quality, longevity, warranty, etc. versus the MRA's.
Thanks for any feedback!

I did email cruiseroutfitters letting them know about the issue, but I didn't chase it after ARB asked for a video. What am I gonna show other than a stuck adjuster? I for sure know I'm not the first to run into this. Hope they improve the design. BP-51s had maybe 1K miles at the time of the email string below. It was purchased and installed at Cruiser Outfitters.

As stated, I'm happy with the current setup. If I ever get around to it, here's to hoping Cruiser Outfitters will go to bat for me with ARB. The BP-51 ride is insane plush matched with the OME mediums. Even my dad, mom, aunt and sister complimented the ride quality on a recent visit and they all initially thought my 80 is an insane car to own.Just my ..02 cents, but maybe if you sent them a video they would warranty the shock for you.

I was running the same shocks - solid option. You've got a lot of fun ahead for you!I at some point plan on swapping out my OME Nitro shocks for the BP-51 but I got other issues first. The LC isn't running well enough to pass emissions so I am on the fence about an LS swap or figure out why the 80 wont pass.
Yes I do. Reading over the V8 thread in this forum and taking notes and talking to people that have done the swap to learn from their mistakes and issues that they ran into.I was running the same shocks - solid option. You've got a lot of fun ahead for you!

They are built in an ARB owned facility in Rayong, Thailand. They have 4 owned factories in the same area building a variety of parts. Nitrocharge shocks are still made in Australia, SD's in the US.
"ARB Corporation has two manufacturing bases in the world: Melbourne in Australia and Rayong Province in Thailand. The factory in Thailand operates under the same high standard and technology as it’s Australian base. One of the reasons ARB originally established the manufacturing plant in Thailand is due to it being a hub worldwide for the manufacture of the pickup vehicle type. The location selected is also very convenient as a centre of product distribution worldwide to a range of countries. Thai craftsmen’s skills have also been recognised internationally to a high standard."
We stock the full range of BP-51's and 'while you're in there' parts @ Cruiser Outfitters and would love to assist when you're ready!

The pro tip I was hoping forI stuck an allen wrench in this hole while using the supplied adjusting tool to turn and adjust the comp/rebound.

The best I can put it is going from a sports car with rubber band tires and slammed to the very limits of suspension travel to one that's on adjustable coilovers matched with high quality tires with ample sidewall for added compliance, control and feel. Can you compare/contrast going from Nitro’s to BP-51’s with same springs?

My stock bodied 80 went from an acceptably harsh ride (think Tesla) to a coddled one (think Rolls Royce) on 37" MTs. The change is drastic and it should be noted that a click or two for both rebound and compression is also material so have it your way.
I hope this helps.
I'm glad to be of help. I should clarify that adding any kind of weight (100lbs+) to my 80 makes it sag especially in rear hatch. If I treated my 80 like a pack mule, I'd definitely look at a heavier rated spring than the mediums. It's a trade off. Good luck, friend!Definitely does. It’s great that you’re seeing this much of a change with the same springs. Thanks for that input. Very helpful because I can keep a few $$ in the pocket by keeping my springs.
Not sure if you guys have notices there was a PN change for the BP51 front shocks for the 80 Series last year.
Standard length went from BP51 60012 to 60043
Extended length went from BP51 60014 to 60044
I wonder what was changed as ARB Tech Support has no clue as well.
