Because it might have been bottled by my wife. I can justify anything if I think hard enough.

Hate to break it to ya, but I've met both Sarah's, and they weren't the same person.

Have you cracked it open yet? Unfortunately, Smooth Ambler is ceasing production of the standard 7yo bourbon. They're running low on aged whiskey stocks and can't seem to find more quality, aged stocks to buy.

I picked up some Jefferson Reserve last night. Incredibly smooth neat and really easy to drink. They age with light char and therefore there isn't a lot of punchy flavor. I like it but would prefer something a bit more dark.

Never thought I'd pay $90 for a Handy and be happy about it. :D

Was in a "local" store this evening trying to find something good. Saw this and could not pass it up ... hope it does not suck;)

Bought this a couple weeks ago and cracked it open last night ... quite pleased with it. It is very smooth and drinkable ...

Just had immediate family gift exchange tonight and was surprised with this:
Anybody ever had it? New to me.....

Finally got my hands on some Smooth Ambler American Whiskey, which is a blend of about 90% of a sourced Tennessee Whiskey (probably made by George Dickel) and the rest being their standard Old Scout. I tried it at the distillery a few months ago and really liked it, but unfortunately it's not for sale in NC, so a buddy of mine in MD hooked me up.

He also found the Midwinter Night's Dram, which is a blend of rye whiskeys from High West. This stuff is Christmas in a bottle and is pretty hard to find. A buddy of mine has a bottle of the same "Act" (batch) as my bottle that I tried a couple weeks ago and it's awesome stuff. Can't wait to crack this one open this evening as Santa is making his way around the world!

My friend also sent me a couple of samples that I can't wait to try, including a certain 13 year-old rye recently released by Jim Beam. ;)

Cheers, and Happy New Years my whiskey drinkin' ONSC brothers & sisters!!

Gift from my sister for my 40th. Claims to be the first bourbon bottled in NY since prohibition.
Not bad. A little harsh on the finish, and the flavor doesn't seem to be quite fully developed yet. Guess that's why they call it "baby". Bottled in '16.

Was given this gem by a co-worker today for helping them out on a project last week.

Combines two of my favorite things on the planet. Single Malt Whisky and IPA's. I've never heard of the aging process going back in the other direction. Can't wait to try it.
