I'm planning a salvage operation tomorrow on a 1993 80 series.

I'm told the drivetrain is gone, but the body and interior is (mostly) still available. I'm open to wishlist items, as long as you don't want me to bring home a hood or doors. LMK

I'll try to post photos after I'm finished, but it won't be a realtime rescue operation.

Fred - I'll pay you for the visors if they're available and not floppy. Either color is fine. The wiper arms would be nice to have too, if they're not overly rusty. I'll defer to your opinion on condition since neither request is critical yet.

done

Can you grab the frame? 😂

If it doesn’t work out John, I have non floppy tan visors but the airbag chemicals “burned” the suede/cloth. The visor Arms should be good. Maybe slight rust at the spline post “knuckle”. Price would be right

Spare center caps and mirrors might be nice to have. Locker dial and locker switch in the passenger kick panel (if equipped). Tail lights, corner lights, turn signals are always in demand. If any of these items are available, I'm your man.

Also steering wheel and column clamshell!

Soooo...what you're saying is pick up some nice orange shag to recover them?

Just FYI, the Crasin has factory locker electronics in it still, and it’s going to be stripped of anything worth while and scrapped soon. I’ll definitely save that stuff, but have no need for it….

Update on the salvage trip:
Eastern Auto Salvage, Biscoe, NC (immediately east of Uwharrie)
(3) 80 series in the yard, no engines, transmissions or axles.
(2) were locked and the axles, along with controllers, harnesses & switches, went the day they arrived.
(3) frames on the sell list; none loose (have yet to be unbolted from the bodies)

(1) 1993, 6M1 (green) good tailgate, A/C evaporator/condenser, heater core, miscellaneous interior parts - no dash, doors, front end, sunroof and no DS rocker (cut out)
(1) 1996, 6M1 (green) good lift & tailgate, A/C evaporator/condenser, heater core, dash, miscellaneous interior parts - no doors, front end, sunroof
(1) unknown year, gunmetal gray (never seen this color on an 80 before), burnt to a crisp - fire was on DS, didn't appear to get the frame at all

bottom line: really good people to work with; good database, they know how to use it and what is where
(3) good frames,
(1) very good body shell,
(1) mostly good body (missing DS rocker panel, full length)
all three have been out in the weather for some time

I’m a little bummed there’s no good fenders, but that’s kind of expected. I’m also in the market for an 80 chassis, but I don’t need it bad enough to pull it myself lol

@IcutYourCruiser
this yard isn't a pull-a part; they do all the work for you.

For anyone in need of any of the parts I listed, I'm planning on going back on Tuesday, to pick up some door cards that I should have taken with me on the first trip.

I was in a hurry last time, because I got there late, and didn't get any photos. I'll try to post some next week when I get back.

LMK if anyone needs anything.

I failed to mention that there are (2) windshields there. The headliner in the '96 is detached and ready for pickup; they removed it when they pulled the sunroof assembly. The '93 headliner, being glued to the roof, is hanging loose, and unusable, except for path material, maybe.

The crispy critter is sitting on the frame, protecting it from the weather; the passenger front door is in usable shape, but that's about all.
