Speculums have limited use. Good for getting things out of a hole and I could see using to hold fishes mouth open to get a lure that’s been swallowed.

I don't know about "good" but I recommend using a little gasket dressing on the threads and surfaces of the washer, helps sealing and removal later.Any good recommendations
Well that’s the plug and old washer I have in it now. Gonna get new plug and gasket, use the stuff @J Mack recommends and I bet everything will be good!What was on the old tank? Don’t recall any leaks from the drain plug. I usually used the white nylon/plastic/whatever ones on the rack at Autozone or similar places.
Tank wrestling for me was usually followed by a heavy dose of ibuprofen.
Agree, it was only option at time. Heading back from pheasant hunt in Kansas and ordering new plugs and gaskets so I can get it all finished up.Gaskets should not be reused whatever the material.
