if you have the right japanese screw drivers (just got mine)... do you need an impact wrench or can you just tap them with the hammer and back them out too?

Just a quick confirmation: is this an Eaton clutch? If so, I understand it only takes 10,000 CST, right?
thanks.
edit: sorry, his pics didn't load. Anyway, my clutch has Torx screw heads, not phillip screws.

Is that a fairly decent clutch, Kevin? An Eaton came off of the bros 95 today, and I was going to chunk it. ...
I decided to do a partial drain on a spare black hub I had then refilled with a mix of 7,000 and 30,000 cst and threw it on his ride. It sucks something wild....
Eaton units have torx screws. You can put any fluid you prefer in them, but they work well on 10K.
......Those black and the early blue hubs move some air, IMHO the best of the bunch!![]()
........ If yours is working well, leave it alone, if/when it has performance loss change the fluid.
... Do you know what the original weight of fluid was in the black hubbed Aisins?
Nope, have done some playing, drip, orifice tests, made guesses bases on those, but they are irrelevant, as they were based in what 10yr old fluid and it's not going to be the same as new fluid.
I've read through this thread from the beginning trying to decide what to do after doing my RT temp gauge mod. I'm glad I waited & read through the whole thread(whew!!!). Back about post #413, you were discussing a black hubbed fan clutch off a '94. I looked at the pics and that is the fan clutch I have.
Found the size needed to replace those 8 damn outer JIS screws....
I went with hex head bolts.... M6- 1,0 - 20MM
A perfect fit!!! Dont need to worry about stripping 'em ever again
I got 'em at Auto Zone
