Awesome! Really looking forward to this. My CSF is not leaking and doing just fine with temps but love everything about this. Only thing I havent seen from anyone just to double bullet proof this system is coolant level gauge. But an aluminum radiator with increased capacity, heavy duty fan clutch, upgraded heater T's, and you'd have a pretty bullet proof cooling system, maybe silicon hoses for run and pretty colors.

Mishimoto arrived today.

First impressions are good. I haven't done a complete un-boxing as I am still on the clock.

Packaging is pretty solid. Strapped and undamaged. Double layer cardboard, with inner foam spacers.

I'm taking the leap of faith. I just placed an order for one on pre-sale. I talked with them and they say they are in manufacturing now, and should ship mid-to-late this month. Supposedly, since they have years of experience making an oem style radiator (aluminum body with plastic) for the LC100, this new all metal one should bolt up to all stock components (fan shroud, AT, etc) cleanly. We'll see how true that is once I get it installed.

If there's anything anyone is particularly interested in me reporting on (fitment, size, distance of fan-to-radiator, etc) just let me know.
It's here! I expected it to ship mid to late October. Instead it was delivered mid-October. Weekend project!

Installed? Thoughts??
I didn't get a chance to install it this weekend. I'm waiting for a vacuum filler to come in. I did unbox it, and it was shipped/packed very well. There were a few slightly bent fins, but I think it's to be expected?

It came with a new Mishimoto radiator cap, foam for the top of the radiator (no foam for the sides). And a bag of bolts.

Quality seems very nice. Welds are OK. Hopefully I can install in the next day or two.

Did the install and Heater T's yesterday. Ordered 1 wrong hose and discovered the tiny leak at the water inlet was due to bad pitting on the inlet. So need to wait for parts to come in to finish the radiator installation.

But here are my fitment results so far:

1. Only found 2 very minor fitment issues:
a) There is no holder for the expansion tank hose. Shouldn't be an issue.
b) There are no dimples on the radiator to accomodate the alignment tabs on the fan shroud. Had to shave down the fan shroud alignment tab about 2mm
2. Other than that, all of the bolt holes line up perfectly.
3. It didn't come with the side support brackets, so I reused my old ones. They fit perfectly and the foam padding came with them.
4. It DID come with self-stick foam for the top of the radiator. I thought it was too shallow compared to OEM, but after installing, it fits fine and snug.
5. It came with all the bolts that screw into the radiator. They didn't have the lock washer and washer, so I didn't want to use them. But thought about it and figured if they provided them, maybe there's a reason (galvanization, etc)? So I used them.

@EPTX Looks good. Need a few more components for my radiator service project, but am looking forward to getting mine installed.

How did the upper and lower OEM hoses fit on the Mishimoto tubes? Mine is still in the box and haven't had an opportunity to check.

The PO had 2 new Gates hoses put on about 2 years ago. Because of the water inlet issues, I also ordered 2 new OEM hoses.

So... other than trying the Gates hoses for a test fit on the radiator (seems fine) I won’t know for sure about fitment until I get the OEM hoses and do a vacuum leak test.

Still have a chance to get a side by side comparison to check thickness? Are they the same depth/thickness?

* For the lack of dimple to retain shroud- you could JB weld a nylon nut in that spot for the little stud to sit in.

Also were you able to close off this gap?

No, the gap got a hair less but there's still a gap. Good point, I need to look at this more.

Looking at the old radiator, the bolt hole is raised like this one, but the aluminum body portion extends out too, so it appears the fan shroud would fit flush.

On this radiator I may consider putting foam around the shroud as a substitute. Think it's necessary?

You want no air gaps where the shroud meets the radiator. And no air gaps on front-top or sides of radiator.

Part of this install exercise (if you or @94SRUNNER or on board with it) would be taking some more measurements, specifically with old radiator and shroud attached for total depth and compare that to the MM with shroud attached. Any variation in depth, less or more, will impact cooling efficiency. Knowing that will help others (who care) decide if its a worthwhile buy.

I didn't take the measurements beforehand with the old radiator, so it'd be great if @94SRUNNER could take those before/after measurements.

Yeah, I’ll get some measurements over the next few days. This will be some good data.

Here are a couple halfa$$ pictures of the stock OEM radiator and shroud.

I’ll work on a better picture tomorrow.

There appears to be a slight gap between the radiator and shroud, but on mine that is where it rests.

My shroud tab on the DS is broken.

I Have a 100 series 05 With 249k miles- just did Spc front end And ball joints - new ko2s- Battery- and All 02 sensors with all new plugs, all new gaskets-Plus Magnaflow Cat........
Then my Original Radiator spring a leak. Big bummer- yet I found this thread. I researched as much as I felt was needed to determine- OEM locally sourced at a reduced cost over anywhere else. Heater ts and thermo done not long ago. I got Oem hoses and clamps; So far I will do it all this wknd. Sure is a good feeling to have all this done, yet man o man- I’m glad I got my Rig at a good price cuz I’m tired of spending $ on all these new parts and seeing my bank acct dwindle.

Local Yota dealership (Virginia Beach) quoted me $750 for a radiator 😂 I should of asked if that included install. So looks like I’ll be heading a different route. Just a shame, after going through this thread all of the alternatives have had a problem one way or another.

I paid $475 for a Toyota unit not too long ago.
