Replacing radiator as preventative maintenance?

What’s the difference between a 16400-50290 and a 16400-50360. I see both online at my local dealer-the first one is 250 more
Fin pitch is tighter on 50290 and was spec’d for the later trucks along with a different fan clutch.

Took an hour to get the old one out- so far super easy job compared to other tasks on the 100. Looks like it was time-

The core looks clean just like mine was at almost 20 years. I wish somebody offered aluminum weld-on endtanks for the OE radiator. Bet you could get another 10-20 years out of it.
They show that process happening in places like India all over YouTube. Pretty ingenious continuance of industry.
 
Reviving an old thread. Would you preemptively change a model year 2000 radiator even if the vehicle only has 50,000 miles on it? Not sure my father ever flushed it. Looks clean.

Would *I* preemptively change it? Yes. The one thing that takes these vehicles down is cooling system failures.

But then again I've preemptively replaced every single water hose and clamp on my '07 -- even the two under the car that go to the rear heater core. (I still need to do the pipes under the intake.)
