I thought the exact same thing...Looks like a recycled Delorian mixed with a healthy amount of garbage in my opinion. Real head scratcher... Performance looks great, but the vehicle looks like it was made in a garage, with no design effort.
I expect I'll see a few around Atlanta. They'll be driven by the same bags of D who feel entitled for driving a Model S or G-wagon. Those who don't know anything will be awed by the badge, and everyone else will realize the world has gone mad.
I've read all the stories about it. I'm into it. If it looked less futuristic I would seriously consider it. I daily drive my truck and feel a bit guilty with 11mpg.
Need a conversion for our trucks. Remove the axles, gas tank, and entire drive line and there is plenty of room for a huge battery and 2-4 motors. Maybe a motor in place of the front and rear diff and the rest of the frame filled with battery.

Yeah, I've seen the same thing in Cybertruck vs Rivian. Bad journalism
Always good to keep the handbrake happy.
I've always wanted to slap an electric motor in between the engine and trans case with a battery in the OEM spare tire area. It's not enough space to get more than a few dozen miles worth of battery capacity i bet, but that would double or triple net mileage for the average commute.
I think there's a huge opportunity in the aftermarket auto industry for hybrid (or full electric, I suppose) conversions once gas prices increase significantly.

Update on the Scangauge II mount on the mini Homelink console.
Ignore the rough surface. For now, all prints are done in the fastest way with no care on surface finish.
The opening is small. Although you can insert the scangauge in there like @Jczajka showed in the following photo, designing a structurally rigid mount to securely mount is another story. There is basically no space left between the scangauge and the overhead console opening.
The goal is till to make a mount that looks factory. I made a brief survey and this one popped up.
Inspired by the overhead console on 80 series, the scangauge is placed almost vertically (10 degrees offset angle precisely speaking). The scangauge slides into the mount, and the mount is connected the overhead console.

Not bat at all. It will probably even have better visibility range than the original one to replace the sunglass holder.

Make12: Scangauge II Mount for Mini-Homelink Overhead Console
12.1 Overview of the Final Product
This is printed with ABS in tan. For a smoother surface, you can sand, apply primer, sand again, and paint.
12.2 Introduction
This mount holds one Scangauge II and one microphone for the models which have the mini-homelink overhead console.
12.3 Design and Fabrication
Original plan was to attach the mount to the overhead panel through snap fit. But I don't think it is secure upon inspecting the prototypes. I added a "wishbone" bracket to mate with the overhead console utilizing three existing holes. The wishbone enhances the security of the snap fitting. No rattle at all.
Steps of assembling.
1: Secure the microphone.
2: Attache the Ethernet cable and slide the Scangauge II in the mount.
3: Snap into the overhead panel.
4: Have the bracket ready with screws.
5: Attach the bracket as shown in picture and tighten the screws (One #4-3/4 and Two #4-1, included).
Note: Don't over tighten.
6: This is to show the complete assembly. No wires are visible.

That's sweet!
Might block the mirror a little is my only concern. I could see the bottom of the Scanguage in the mirror when I had it just jammed in there.
It will be nice to have it solidly in there now and the built in mic is super cool.
Note: there were two little cross members that span the the short side on the opening, that I cut out. Just snipped them with some cutters.
