So after I got the Chassis Liner on the whole lot I let it dry for three days and then applied the Monstaliner. Overall it really helped pull everything together, it is a solid finish and helps hide some imperfections. :)

Nice work dude!

Oh...to be and handy as some of yoos guys... :-/ :)

Great work!

Are you going to cover the top with carpet?

Thanks, Markuson! I was never really handy though tinkered a bit. I search the Google and spoke with several folks like TrekBoxx, Paul at Equipt, Jerry at Tembo Tusk, and many others. They were all wonderful and were open to spending quite a bit of time with me on the phone to talk about the project. Then I just bit the bullet and dove right in. This community is so tight and everyone is willing to help anyone that needs it. That's really why I put these build threads together, to give back as best I can. I learned a TON from MUD and ExPo!

If you ever need any help or have any questions, just let me know.

I do not plan on adding carpet to it. The Monstaliner is very durable. I will be adding some tie-down tracks after I mount my drop-down fridge slide, and may add some rubber matting on top but more for sound deadening than anything else.

That's really cool that you found the info and help that you needed, despite not considering yourself a "handyman..." Maybe you'll inspire this non-handyman to try...

I never thought of rubber matting, but that sounds like a great idea. Maybe something like one might put in a weight-lifting area of a gym, or similar? I've subscribed to this thread, and will look forward to whatever you post as you finish. Thanks for such a thorough description.

Totally agree on the helpful folks here on mud. I learn new things constantly here, and am amazed at the breadth of knowledge/experience among not only shop owners/professionals, but also guys who just figure things out as they go. Thanks again,

Markuson

Awesome! Look forward to seeing what you come up with Markuson! I got some of this coin grip matting...not terribly expensive and it will most likely lay on top of the drawers when I have cargo back there.

I am curious to everyone's thoughts on this awning. There is a poll on there that is getting traction but figured I would post on this thread to get more or your thoughts on it.

And finally, I fitted everything bolted the system to the chassis and installed the drawers. The right front panel is reserved for electrical outlets and the left may be used for compressor switch, quick air disconnect, a water outlet.

You may have noticed that I am missing a drawer above. I actually got pulled into several unexpected late in the day meetings yesterday which botched most of my plans for finishing the install of the final drawer.

The above photos are how she stands today. I am sitting in the Denver airport right now in-between flights as I just dropped the truck off to the guys at CBI Offroad. Nathan at CBI has been...well...a HUGE help. I have spent many phone calls and emails planning this out with Nathan. He will be using my 200 series as the Guinea pig for many cool products that you will be able to purchase straight from CBI for the 200 series platform. So I drove out to Idaho Falls throughout the night to drop her off.

CBI will be starting a deep and thorough overhaul of Bear next week. I will be posting pictures along the way of what is happening. I will be back to CBI in 4 weeks to pick her up...wow that's a long time...but it will be worth it!

I do also have to thank Paul May, who is Equipt1, for the hours he has spent on the phone with me walking through my build plan, what I was overthinking, what seemed like a good option, etc. More on the K9 roof rack Install to follow CBI's work. :)

Here are some pics of the trip:

So she is finally up on the lift and it is good to get to see Bear again! CBI Offroad jumped right in with first planning out the rear bumper design tying in the skids. Then the cutting began around the back. You can really tell how well the 200 series is built and how much thought continues through this legendary platform.

Are they going to relocate the trailer harness from the lame stock location to the bumper like they did on their 4Runner setup?

Okay, it's been a little bit but with work and the site being down for the better part of the week, I was able to accumulate some goodies for everyone!

CBI has been making some good progress overall. I will probably share these across multiple posts.

Firstly the rear section. The baseline is done and the bumper plate has been designed, mounted, and tacked. She is starting to come together. We are still talking about the rear swing-aways so those will come a little later.

Originally I wanted to have a few 'rub rails' above the corners of the bumper, kind of like they have with their 5th gen bumper, but we decided against it for looks and efficiency, they would ultimately stick out too far.

I am happy with how the rear is coming along, I have gained approximately 4" of clearance and this is taking the future transfer fuel tank into consideration. Not too shabby.
