Well, what a massive weekend in Brooksys shed, but he got a fair bit sorted. Am stoked with hows it all turning out.

First thing was to trim the aprons to lift the front fenders up the thickness of the tube (1.5"). Brooksy marking them out.

Chopped

Using some rhs to get a level section to sit the outer tube on.

Brooksy tried to do the outer tube from 1 piece, but the two bends were too close together. Temporary front tube on to work out where to chop/bend etc.

Front section in place, zip ties are allen keys used to keep it all in line for welding.

Both guards bent up, ready for mounts to be done.

Front mounts

Middele mount, had to do a kink in this to get around the 3F's airbox, would have been good if I had the V8 in so it could have been done with 1 bend. Rear fender mount will be to the sliders.

Chopped about 1.5" off the sills.

Now some finished pics of where its at now. Swapped the 2 krawlers I had down at brooks on 1 side to see what they'll look like (which is way better then the 33s, hehe)

Rear slider mount went back abit on the chassis to pick up some existing holes.

That bumper came out real good !

Thanks mate, am stoked how its turned out, got it painted tonight, so its looking even better.

Got another big weekend in Brooksys shed coming up on the 40. Hope to get done; front guards sheeted in, rear flares sheeted, bracing and dimpled tread plate to the sliders, and possibly a swing out wheel carrier and possibly paint, for me to bring her home monday.

Need to sort some new bonnet latches too now the stock ones dont fit.

Then the following friday its off to Landcruiser Mountain Park for 3 days of wheeling :D

Picked up some new bonnet latches today since the stock bonnet latches got taken out when we cut the panels for the fenders to sit higher. These will be temporary, when I get the whole truck resprayed I want to sort a internal latch setup like modern trucks have, and just have it all smooth on the outside. Neat little latch but, $18ea from BCF

Picked up the new LED reverse lights too, these will be mounted between the tubes on the rear bar. Supposed to put out some good light, so will run a overide switch to them for setting up camp at night etc.

Few more photos from the weekend......couldn't stop smiling on the drive back home from Brooksys in 40.....Truck seemed to run great after sitting for almost 10 months.

Sheeting of the fenders and rear flares went ok, few bits will need to be tidied up by panel beaters/brooksy at a later date, but it looks more then good enough for now.

Kane from Komited Kustoms and Brooksy doing the rear flares.

Am stoked hows its all turned out, just needs some new paint all round to set it off now, but plan to drive it for a few months, then get the V8 in there and a roll cage, then will get it all painted properly.

That is some nice work. Do you have a plan for keeping the mud out between the sheet metal and the pipe? Do you have a pic of the pipe bender?:D

Thanks for all the brain food.

I use a JD2 model 4 hydro bender & 1 1/2" DOM on all of Twisty's tube work.
