Just curious if I could do a spring flip with my current 4 inch lift springs and clear 37's? Anyone doing this?

40s shackle lift flipped springs flat fenders no aprons
And cut to just below inner brace on tub
Rear wheel tubs raised to match big tires and low

I have been looking into this as well. I have the old 35's from my 4Runner that I plan on running first to see how they fit. I am setting up my suspension now with spring flip for the rear, 4 inch spring and 2 1/2 in shackles. I will be doing flat fenders as well, might trim down the aprons a bit and lift fenders up a couple inches to help. The rear I get the feeling staying SUA is going to require more trimming than the PO already did. I do not want to do a full comp cut so we shall see. I will be following your progress to see what you do and end up with.

I am running 37" super swamper boggers off road and 36" michelin 16"-9" military tires on road I would just scrub on the front if twisted the same was true for the rear how ever I have a hard time keeping springs in the back due to the weight of my 40 and the amount of off road use it sees. I am was running a BDS 4" lift with 1.5"-2.5" "can't remember" anti-inversion shackles the rear didn't last long, which they told me was due to the torque of the v8. However they did honor their warranty but had to give me a set of rough country springs as they don't make the kit for an FJ40 any longer, the new springs did not last near as long even though I have since put a diesel in the truck and were quite lower then the BDS springs to start with. I have since built new front fenders and rears the rears are cut out as well but I will be calling Alcan on Monday to finally do this correctly with SUA. Hope this is of some help.

PS you could see pic's if you go into my profile.

I have a '78 with 4" lift springs w/2.5" shackles rear, 1.5" shackles front. I run 34x9.50 Super Swampers and have never had them rub, though the rear tires are close when compressed. Would like to move up to 35's or 36's, but know I will have to change something to gain more clearance...especially in the rear.

35's SUA, stock axle, stock springs, extended rear shackle - the right front is jammed on the fender, the right rear is hanging in the air - the left rear is tight up against the rear inner fender. Left door won't close, right door won't open in this position!
